“The time for words has now moved to the time for action” - Her Majesty The Queen 💚🌍

Whether you are a royalist or not it’s hard not to admire the devotion, hard work and loyalty that the Queen demonstrated throughout her life, something to be hugely admired. 

While the Queen may have spoken less about the climate than some of her family members, she clearly was an environmentalist at heart. Before the UK hosted the COP26 climate change summit in Glasgow in November 2021, the Queen criticised world leaders' inaction on the crisis - since she was so rarely outspoken, these words really meant a lot! 

We extend our sincerest condolences to the Royal Family at this sad time.

IT IS A BIG DAY FOR OYA ENERGY!!

Today we commission our first housing association installation and I am encouraged by the collaboration and commitment shown by our clients to tackle climate change head-on.

The general public on the other hand is understandably reluctant to commit their hard-earned savings to start the process - but who can blame them? The cost of living is skyrocketing and as a result, funding climate action takes a backseat!

Finally, as the summer draws to a close and the heatwaves are replaced with stormy nights and darker evenings I just wanted to say 'What a summer for OYA Energy and I can't wait to see what the winter brings!'

Our Marketing & Content Specialist Lydia has just returned after 2 weeks of travelling and wild camping around the depths of the Scottish Highlands. So first off, apologies for any delays in response she is back in OYA HQ and raring to go!

Secondly, this doesn’t have much to do with carbon reduction or OYA for that matter, BUT…. get yourself to Scotland at your first opportunity, it is utterly incredible! Breathtaking views, unbeatable beaches and all round ultimate vibes!

There is nothing like a sprinkle of annual leave to get the creative juices flowing - bring on the final month of Q3, let’s make it a good one!

- The Tory leadership contestants still seem divided on how they are going to help the vast majority of the public with their fuel bills this winter.

GAS bills look as if they are going to skyrocket throughout the colder months. So now it is more important that ever to become much less dependent on gas; not only from a climate change perspective but also becoming less dependent upon imported gas which makes us vulnerable to worldwide price fluctuations.

Roll on the point in time when all of our heating is driven by electricity which in turn has been generated by a renewable source!!!

It's time for Stephen's weekly round-up

The conservative leadership contest continues to dominate the news, but both contestants seem very reluctant to come out as very “pro” climate change - which is frustrating.

Personally, I think both candidates are missing a trick; As most of us are aware of this incredibly serious issue, I can only think that they believe the conservative party members are not interested in climate change!

On another note - I am really enjoying the Daily Climate Show on Sky News, it is very informative with good statistics (which I like - I am a numbers man)!

Last week the UK recorded temperatures of over 40C - this is a direct result of the climate crisis!

This could be our coolest summer of the rest of our lives, unless drastic action is taken to reduce our carbon emissions now!
