• Excavation & Preparation: We started by excavating the existing concrete driveway, making way for a fresh and solid foundation.

• Foundation Installation: A Taram membrane and sub-base of scalpings were carefully installed to ensure long-lasting stability.

• Charcoal Edging: We added a touch of elegance with charcoal edgings around the perimeter, creating a crisp, clean border.

• Manhole Covers: Three recessed manhole covers were seamlessly integrated, maintaining both functionality and aesthetics.

• Custom Brickwork: Our team built a brand new front door step using brick and pointing to perfectly match the house, topped with Kandala grey sandstone slabs for a sophisticated finish.

• Purbeck Stone Driveway: The driveway was laid with beautiful Purbeck stone, offering a natural yet refined look.

• Rumble Strip Installation: At the entrance, we installed a rumble strip using charcoal paviers on a concrete base, reinforced with steel for added strength.

• Path Edgings & Tarmac: New concrete path edgings were installed, with tarmac blended into the road for a smooth transition.

🔨 Project Details:

1. Removal and Preparation:
• Removed the existing brick wall and railings.
• Excavated foundations (200mm wide, 300mm deep) in the position of the old railings.
• Installed concrete to the excavated foundation.
2. Brick Wall Construction:
• Built a new brick wall using beautiful red facing bricks.
• Constructed seven sturdy brick piers for added strength and aesthetics.
• Topped the wall and piers with Staffordshire blue engineering bricks for a sleek and durable finish.
3. Additional Brick Wall Specification:
• Removed an additional brick wall.
• Excavated four foundations for the construction of new brick piers.
• Supplied and installed concrete to these foundations.
• Constructed another brick wall with four brick piers.
• Installed a new pedestrian entrance gate, mirroring the design of the existing gate.
4. Finishing Touches:
• Ensured the new walls were constructed to the same height and width as the original walls.
• Disposed of all associated waste responsibly.

🚜 Shrubbery Removal & Ground Preparation

• Removed existing shrubbery and raised ground, ensuring a clean slate for the new installation.

🔨 Sub Base preparation

• Installed 4”x4” timber posts in concrete for robust structural support of new timber sleepers.
• Installed new timber sleepers, dimensions 5.2 meters x 2.6 meters.
• Created a solid sub base using scalpings, with a depth of 100 millimeters.
• Applied bitumen paint to all timbers underground and inside edges of sleepers to prevent damp rot.

🏡 New Patio Installation:

• Supplied and installed a 13.5 square meter patio using elegant Anthracite porcelain slabs.
• Each slab, sized at 600 x 600 x 20 millimeters, was treated with an SBR slurry mix to ensure strong adhesion.
• Finished with high-quality Mapei charcoal grouting for a sleek, polished look.

We’re thrilled to share the completion of another exciting project in the Lordshill Southampton area! At MJ Building and Landscaping, we take pride in delivering top-notch services, and this project was no exception. Here’s a rundown of the fantastic work we’ve done:

🛠 Foundation Excavation: We excavated a foundation 300mm wide and 300mm deep to ensure a sturdy base for the structure.

🏗 Concrete Pouring: Next, we supplied and poured concrete for the newly excavated foundation, ensuring durability and stability.

🧱 Double Skin Wall Construction: We constructed a double skin wall measuring 5.8 meters long and 450mm in height, incorporating red facing bricks, concrete blocks, five brick piers, red brick on edge coping, concrete pier caps, and fence panels.

🏞 Retaining Ground Work: To maintain the integrity of the ground, we broke existing paving slabs for proper drainage and installed a perforated pipe bedded on peashingle behind the concrete blockwork. We also backfilled the lower ground level with crushed concrete and type 1 installed sharp sand in preparation for artificial grass installation.

🌱 Artificial Grass Installation: We supplied and installed artificial grass, seamlessly blending it with the raised surroundings for a polished finish.

🗑 Waste Disposal: As always, we ensured responsible waste disposal, leaving the site clean and tidy.
