Apprentices, this is your reminder!

Applications for Apprentice Week at PB Asher close this week on 29 May.

If you want a proper look at marine engineering, this is your chance to spend time with engineers who work on real engines, real components, and real overhaul projects every day.

Good engineering careers start with strong foundations, practical exposure, and time alongside people who know the job properly.

Apprentice Week runs from 30 June to 2 July, and we’ll be selecting a small number of candidates from that week to begin apprenticeships in September at Southampton City College.

Uneven readings often point to an imbalance in combustion

Small leaks highlight early sealing or component issues

→ Listen for irregular combustion knock
Changes in sound often show up before performance drops

→ Watch fuel rack movement
It should stay smooth and consistent across the range

→ Review recent fuel consumption
Small increases usually signal something starting to drift
