Our SWL engineers have recently been working at a theatre near Wembley, completing the replacement and installation of a 22.5-metre height safety system.

Following an inspection, the previous system had been identified as defective, meaning it could no longer provide the required level of protection for those working at height.

Our team removed the defective system and installed a new 22.5m height safety system, providing a safe and reliable solution for personnel carrying out essential access, maintenance and inspection work within the theatre.

⚓ 5-Yearly Load Testing - Keeping Marine Operations Safe⚓

SWL recently attended a tug boat to carry out 5-yearly load testing in accordance with Marine LOLER 2006.

Our engineers completed the testing using a Hydrajaws puller kit, lever hoist and calibrated load cell, alongside our own inspected and certified lifting equipment, allowing the required loads to be safely and accurately applied and monitored.

Regular load testing helps verify the continued integrity and safe operation of fixed lifting equipment in demanding marine environments. ⚓💪

7.15 Tonnes - PUT TO THE TEST!

Another specialist proof load test successfully completed by the SWL team, testing equipment with an SWL of 6.5 tonnes to 110% - a total test load of 7.15 tonnes.

For this test, our engineers utilised waterbags to safely and progressively apply the required load, alongside calibrated load cells to accurately measure and verify the applied force throughout the test.

Using waterbags provides a controlled and practical method of applying substantial test loads, particularly where conventional test weights may not be suitable.

From planning and setup through to load application, verification and certification, our experienced team can provide complete load testing solutions both on-site and in-house.
