I was asked to come in and plaster a room where a previous Builder sand and cement the walls following damp issues. Unfortunately the finish left behind was very uneven and not suitable for decorating.

The walls were first checked and prepared properly to make sure the existing render was solid and suitable to work from. Once everything was ready, the room was skimmed with finishing plaster to create a smooth, clean surface ready for painting and decoration.

Sometimes jobs like this just need a professional finish to bring everything together and achieve the result the customer originally wanted.

The end result was a much cleaner and more professional finish throughout the room.

Another job recently completed by Evolution Plastering & Building Services for a property managed by a local estate agent.

This property required a new boundary fence along the front pathway due to a significant drop down to the garage area below the house. The new fence was installed to improve safety and create a secure barrier along the edge of the driveway and walkway.

The work involved installing new timber posts securely into the ground and fitting pressure treated fence panels along the full length of the boundary. Care was taken to ensure the fence followed the line of the existing wall and pathway while remaining strong and stable due to the drop on the other side.

This installation not only improves safety for anyone using the pathway but also gives the front of the property a much cleaner and more secure finish post were left High as they were thinking of having trellis further down the line.

All works were carried out safely and professionally while working around the existing structure and access to the property.

Another damp repair completed by Evolution Plastering & Building Services for a property managed by a local estate agent.

The property had developed damp issues which had caused the internal plaster to deteriorate and blow in certain areas. In order to resolve the problem correctly, the damaged plaster was completely hacked off back to the original brickwork to remove all contaminated material.

To help prevent moisture rising through the wall, a damp proof injection was carried out externally. This process creates a new damp proof barrier within the brickwork to stop moisture travelling up through the wall.

Once the internal wall had been taken back to solid brick, it was thoroughly cleaned and prepared before applying a sand and cement render mixed with a waterproof additive. This provides a strong, durable base while also helping to resist any remaining moisture within the wall.

After the render had properly cured, the wall was finished with a fresh skim of plaster to leave a smooth surface ready for decorating.

By carrying out the work this way, the damp affected area is treated properly rather than simply covered over, helping to ensure a long lasting result for the property.

Recently completed front room renovation by Evolution Plastering & Building Services.

This project involved full preparation, plastering, boxing work and painting to completely refresh the space. The existing wallpaper was stripped from the walls, including the chimney breast, before applying SBR and carrying out a full plaster finish to create a smooth modern surface ready for decoration.

We also framed out and plasterboarded an unused doorway, boxed in a glass hatch panel, and replaced skirting boards where the previous door opening had been. Once all plastering was complete, the walls were prepared and finished with two coats of vinyl matt paint, leaving the room looking clean, bright and fully transformed.

All carpets and floors were carefully protected throughout the work to keep the property clean and tidy.
