How far could you run in 24 hours?

From midday Saturday 27 June to midday Sunday 28 June 2026, Martin Blake and three teammates will be finding out at HARP24.

Lap after lap of a 5 mile off road route through the Essex countryside at Cherry Orchard Country Park.

Through the heat. Through the night. Through the doubt.

Why?

HARP supports around 1,000 local people experiencing homelessness every year, providing safe accommodation, support and a route back to stability.

It’s a cause close to home. Blake Fire & Security Systems already work with HARP to help protect vulnerable people in our community. Now we want to support them in a different way.

Endurance runs in the Blake family. Ian Blake has completed many of marathons over the years, including 25 Paris Marathons. This time, it’s Martin’s turn. Different challenge. Same determination.

We are aiming to raise £2,000 as an absolute minimum. An ambitious target. But then again, so is running through the night.

WE ARE HIRING = CAD Technician

We are looking for an CAD Technician to provide efficient administrative support for our fast-paced business. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with strong attention to detail and the experience to develop in our specialist industry.

As our CAD Technician you will work closely with managers and engineers to guarantee all drawings meet industry regulations, client specification and our internal processes.

You will need to work to tight deadlines within all areas of the business and across multiple projects, producing detailed, compliant drawings, diagrams, and full layouts.

You will need:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent

• Strong understanding of technical drawings, layout plans and assembly documentation

• Revising existing drawings

• Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping

• Good communication skills to work with our engineers and administration team

• Competent in Microsoft Office.

This is an office-based role

- Full time 40 hours per week

Blake Fire & Security Systems is looking for an Operational Excel Template Designer to help streamline and automate our internal processes with advanced Excel magic.

Expert in Excel (including macros, Power Query, XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables etc)

Can build user-friendly templates that make life easier

Happy to chat with engineers/admin teams to understand needs

Experience in automating workflows using Excel and/or VBA

Familiar with Office 365, SharePoint and Teams

Bonus if you have knowledge of:

- Sage

- Construction or Fire & Security industries

- Finance or quoting processes

You will work on streamlining quoting, reports, dashboards, and more – improving how departments across the business work. It’s a role that really makes a difference. This position would suit someone with a background in finance and experience creating user friendly spreadsheets.

✅Knowledge of the following panels is important:

Kentec, Morley, Advance,
Gent, Protec and Fireclass are a bonus

✅ECS or CSCS card is a definite advantage

✅FIA units for maintenance, service and design desirable

✅ Hourly pay based on experience and qualifications

✅ Company van and phone

✅ On-call rota just 1 week in 9

✅ Regular overtime offered
