What does construction in a busy city centre look like?

Narrow streets, listed buildings, ongoing traffic and heavily pedestrianised areas are common challenges. With the increasing focus on refurbishment, retrofit and repurposing of existing buildings, these constraints need to be carefully managed.

We support such projects by advising on effective vertical distribution solutions for complex urban environments. Pictured is an Alimak 650 24/32 FC passenger hoist, installed on a gantry above street level and supported by a Yale 2000 kg electric chain hoist and bespoke running beams. This setup enables the safe and efficient transfer of personnel and materials from roadside to site.

RECO Hoist is proud to announce the successful award of a major hoist package at White City, West London – one of the capital’s most significant and exciting regeneration projects.

RECO Hoist secures hoist package on landmark refurbishment project in Norwich

We are proud to share that RECO Hoist has been awarded the hoist package for a major redevelopment at the Grade II Listed Lasdun Wall Building in Norwich, a vital part of the University of East Anglia (UEA) campus.

This transformative project aims to boost the building’s thermal efficiency by 86%, supporting UEA’s ambition to achieve Net Zero Carbon. As part of the works, new science facilities and teaching spaces will be created in an expanded Building 3, while Buildings 4, 5 and 6 will remain operational throughout the refurbishment.

New project secured in North London!

RECO Hoist is delighted to have secured the hoist and access package on a major new development in North London. Northwick Park, being delivered by Vistry Group, is a major regeneration initiative in Brent that will deliver 654 new home with more than half of these affordable.

The joint-venture partnership is celebrating the progress of works on Northwick Parkside, the first phase of the wider Northwick Park regeneration scheme, which in total will deliver 1,600 new homes and a range of community facilities when fully complete.

Of the 654 homes being delivered in the first phase of the scheme, 323 will be affordable homes – 50% of the total - and funded by the Mayor of London through the Greater London Authority’s (GLA’s) Affordable Homes Programme. These homes will be offered across a range of affordable tenures, including Social Rent, London Affordable Rent, London Living Rent, Intermediate Rent (for key workers) and Shared Ownership.

RECO Hoist have been engaged to supply multiple modern Alimak 650 FC Passenger Hoists across several blocks of the project. Works on site have commenced and continue into 2027.

RECO Hoist are delighted to have secured the hoist package on a large scale project in Wembley for our longstanding client.

Wates are delivering 304 new homes for Brent Council on Cecil Avenue and the Neighbouring Ujima House. The £100m scheme will see a mixture of much needed affordable and private homes being delivered across the two sites.

RECO Hoist are providing six high-performance Alimak 650 FC Passenger Hoists across the project to facilitate all the projects vertical distribution.
