🚚 Introducing our new 18t Volvo FM Globetrotter (2026)

We’re proud to welcome a significant upgrade to the Alpha Manufacturing fleet with the introduction of our new 18t Volvo FM Globetrotter. Replacing our outgoing 7.5t truck, this 18 tonne upgrade marks a major step forward in efficiency, safety, and capability.

With greater payload, increased load height and maximised load space, the new Volvo FM allows us to group more orders per journey, reducing trips, emissions, and reliance on subcontract hauliers, while improving delivery performance and value for our customers.

Equipped with advanced driver assistance, collision avoidance, lane keeping support and adaptive cruise control, plus a Camera Monitoring System, retractable access stairs, edge protection, and a fully integrated tail lift.

We recently had the pleasure of hosting a customer open day at Alpha Manufacturing, alongside customers from our sister company, HEX Living.

The day was designed to showcase our capabilities and facilities, beginning with a full site tour. Guests were able to explore our machinery and processes in detail, gaining a deeper understanding of how we operate and what sets us apart.

It was a great opportunity for customers to see first-hand the care, precision, and quality that goes into every product we produce, as well as view a range of completed products up close.
The day concluded at Eaton Hall with clay pigeon shooting, offering a relaxed environment to continue conversations and build relationships.

Overall, it was a fantastic opportunity for collaboration and engagement, and we were delighted to receive such positive feedback from everyone who attended.

From Prototype to Production: First Self-Scanner Units Completed

Alpha Manufacturing has completed the first units of a new Self-Scanner design, fully manufactured, coated, and assembled in-house before being shipped to their final home in Europe by our customer.

These multi unit builds mark the start of a wider production run and reflect our ability to progress smoothly from prototype to scalable manufacturing. The project brings together a broad range of processes, including laser cutting, folding, component insertion, and stud and TIG welding of stainless steel parts.

The finished units feature a durable powder-coated structure with a grained and polished stainless-steel top section. Custom mounting components were also produced to accommodate the customer’s external fittings and wiring requirements.

From fabrication through to final assembly, this project highlights Alpha Manufacturing’s end to end capabilities and attention to detail on a first of its kind design.
