Community Speed Watch
Will be operating in the village between Saturday 29th March and Friday 11th April.
We are all only too aware that a great deal of traffic travels through the village in excess of the 30 mile an hour speed limit.
We all risk accidents every day, trying to pull out of our drives and roadways. Children crossing the road for school buses and going to the play park, also risk heir lives every day.
Running this scheme again this year helps us to support the Parish Councils requests to Leicestershire police and Rutland County Council to do more to reduce speeding in Essendine.
We plan to cover sessions in the mornings, lunchtime and during the evening to provide large amounts of data at different times of the day. This information when uploaded, will provide very valuable data to support our case for traffic calming measures to be installed ad a matter of urgency.
I do understand that many of you work and therefore have very limited opportunities to be able to help. However, if we are able to get a large number of people to assist us, it spreads the load and we may only need you to do one or to sessions over that period.
Please do volunteer and help us make a difference and make our village safer.
Please contact Community Speed Watch Coordinator, Adele Stainsby by email - [email protected] or phone or text

Thank you in anticipation of your help and support.
