We are looking for a reliable, experienced Shotfiring / Explosives Supervisor to be based at our Head Office in Stirling. You will be working on various contracts throughout Scotland.
To be considered for this role you must hold:
· Explosives Supervisor MPQC Card.
· NVQ in Shotfiring (or equivalent).
· CSCS Card.
· Full UK Driving Licence.

You should be willing to work overtime/ weekends if required.

Great Progress at Camps Reservoir 🚧

Works are progressing well at Camps Reservoir near Biggar, where the team is nearing completion on the new reinforced spillway slab for George Leslie.

Just 6No. 6.5m stainless-steel anchors and a bit of additional excavation are left to complete. These permanent anchors are being drilled into bedrock on a 1 in 4 cobblestone slope – a testament to the skill and experience of the team on site.

Earlier in the project, temporary anchors were successfully installed to secure the D7 rig, enabling safe and efficient drilling throughout.

A big well done to the site team for their fantastic work so far.

Works are progressing well at Camps Reservoir near Biggar for George Leslie!



Following the installation of temporary anchors in the spillway to secure the D7 rig, the team are now well underway installing the stainless-steel anchors for the new reinforced concrete spillway slab.



The permanent anchors will be up to 6.5m in length, drilled into bedrock, working on a 1 in 4 spillway slope.

Works commence at Camps Reservoir!

This week, our team began works at Camps Reservoir near Biggar for George Leslie.

The team are installing temporary anchors in the spillway to secure the D7 rig as they prepare to drill 137No. permanent stainless-steel anchors for the new reinforced concrete spillway slab.

The permanent anchors will be up to 6.5m in length, drilled into bedrock, working on a 1 in 4 spillway slope.

Our team have recently completed the soil nailing works for Capstone Construction and have demobilised from the site.



With the sprayed concrete works and final meshing completed, the rear slope is now fully stabilised, ensuring long-term support for the development.

We’ve been shortlisted!



We are thrilled to announce that we have been shortlisted for the ‘UK Project with a Geotechnical Value of between £1M and £3M’ award at the Ground Engineering Awards 2025.

The submission was based on the scope of works carried out at the Hawick Flood Protection Scheme, one of the largest flood defence projects in Scotland.

This critical infrastructure protects the town of Hawick from future major flood events, and we are proud to have played a key role in its success.



The scope of works included:

⭐ Installation of a contiguous piled wall

⭐Capping beam and upstand river wall

⭐A 42m long, 15m deep new wall, constructed inside a steel sheet piled wall



This recognition is a testament to the dedication and expertise of everyone on site including, Scottish Borders Council & SBC Contracts, CPE Consultancy and Jacobs.

We look forward to the awards ceremony and celebrating the achievements of the geotechnical industry.
