Bedroom magazine photo shoot for Castrads (cast-iron radiators) Here's the details:
Original plaster-cast coving, picture rail & skirts:
Coving was put up in a non-traditional way, as the plaster was loose all way round the room. Made it safe to fit by putting ply all around first to make a good fixing. Then fitted the coving on top.
Cast-iron fireplace:
Knocked through the old fireplace, then put a cast-iron fireplace (I reconditioned from rusty) back in. Fitted and working to part J building regulations (chimney).
Created a layout design for some left over tiles then layed them to fit.
Window surround:
Make a modern plastic window look more in keeping with an old traditional style of room. So created and fitted a wooden frame surround, put in a new windowsill and architrave moulding, giving it a feel of the old sash windows.
The end result:
The finished effect. The building details fit perfectly with the style and the accessories.
