When Ethan joined our Engineering Re-engineered Programme, he was looking for a new direction in his career.

Having worked as a multi-skilled labourer and handyman, and most recently as an NDT Technician inspecting weld quality, Ethan became fascinated by the welding process itself.

Instead of inspecting the final product, he decided he wanted to learn the skills behind it.

Ethan showed full commitment and dedication to our programme and successfully earned qualifications in:

• MIG, MMA and TIG welding
• Industry coding and testing
• Abrasive wheels
• Manual handling

Ethan has now progressed straight into employment, taking the first big step on a career pathway in welding. Witnessing trainees like Ethan is part of Nordic's wider commitment to supporting talent in Teesside.

There’s a real sense of change happening around Teesside at the moment...

Redevelopment is taking place across the neighbourhood. Upgraded car parking areas, Stockton Riverside's new Waterfront Urban Park and Stagecoach's replacement bus depot plans, the area is evolving quickly and it’s something we’re proud to see firsthand from our base here at Nordic.

Internally, exciting changes are happening at Nordic too, including a new and upcoming website for the Nordic Specialist Cleaning and Coatings page, alongside its recent LinkedIn launch.

During all of this, our work continues to bring people together from across the UK and overseas. More to come very soon 🤝

Meet Jasmin, Head of Performance and Contract Governance at Nordic 👋

With 18 years of experience in adult education, skills, and employability across the North East, Jasmin brings a wealth of expertise in optimising funded contracts, maintaining compliance and to ensure everything Nordic does has a positive impact on the people we support.

Having grown up in Stockton, Jasmin is deeply passionate about helping the local people of Teesside gain certified engineering qualifications and access rewarding, long-term careers.

Jasmin has spent the last 18 years of her career working in adult education, skills and employability across Tees Valley, the North East and Yorkshire and Humber.

Joining Nordic felt like a natural next step for Jasmin, allowing her to bring that experience into the engineering sector. Jasmin is most excited about working alongside our experienced team to help develop the next generation of welders and engineering professionals.

Jasmin hopes to be a part of Nordic's journey for years to come as it's such an exciting to join a business with such strong foundations and unlimited potential.

When Andrew Pyle joined Nordic as a Warehouse Apprentice in 2015, he began by learning the fundamentals of our Specialist Cleaning & Coatings division.

A decade later, as Business Development & Operations Manager, Andrew’s journey mirrors Nordic’s own evolution.

Andrew has consistently championed our mission: protecting, restoring and uplifting high-footfall environments across the UK.

During the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games, Andrew Pyle helped direct one of the biggest operational challenges in Nordic’s history.

What started as a single specialist team quickly scaled into an 8-team, round-the-clock operation! The team were responsible for cleaning over 106,000m² of graffiti across the city.

The project was deemed a huge success by Councillors, the City Council and the public alike.

For Nordic, it showcased our ability to deliver under public scrutiny and for Andrew, it was a defining moment of moving from business development into the wider operational and strategic side of the business!

Back in 2016, our Engineering Division Centre first opened its doors, built on a vision to deliver essential training, and back the engineering and specialist cleaning sectors in Teesside 💡

Fast forward to 2026, the space has evolved to meet the expanding demand of our trainees, clients and business partnerships.

Over the last 10 years, our core purpose remains unchanged, to enhancing lives through hands-on skill development and delivering exceptional solutions across not just Teesside, but the UK.

We're revisiting a huge project Nordic are proud to have been a part of in Manchester City Centre 🌟

Working in partnership with CityCo and Manchester City Centre BID, our cleaning and coatings team were proud to play their part in enhancing the appearance of key areas across the city, helping to create cleaner, more welcoming environments for residents, visitors and businesses.

Projects like these demonstrate the positive impact that rapid response environmental services, such as cleaning and coatings can have on the look and feel of our towns and cities across the UK!
