⚠️ Fake wounds ⚠️

Last week we had 10 team members complete their First Aid at Work training 💪

A big thank you to Hands on Heart for delivering such a tailored and practical training experience. The course was designed around the way we actually work, the equipment we use, and even the kind of activities we run (including a very memorable climbing wall fall scenario!).

It’s great to be able to support local businesses who go the extra mile to provide hands-on, relevant training that really sticks.

Our second Cars and Coffee event at Labman brought together an incredible mix of automotive passion and cutting-edge automation at the weekend. 🚗

Despite the classic British weather delivering all four seasons in a single day, the turnout was fantastic. Enthusiasts braved the elements to admire a diverse lineup of cars, from Peugeots to Porsches, while many were just as excited to step inside for a behind-the-scenes factory tour. 👀

A great day of engines, innovation, and plenty of coffee - we’re already looking forward to the next one. ☕️

We're pleased to welcome Mark to Labman as a maintenance and facility technician.

Mark joins us with a strong background in construction and fitting with his previous work being delivering facias and soffits. Alongside this, Mark is also self employed in the home improvement industry and has plenty of experience with construction, maintenance, and customer service. 🚀

Outside of work, he enjoys fishing, hiking, and his bar dedicated to Thornaby airfield, but his real passion is converting commercial vans into campervans. 🚐

Easter week at Labman HQ brought a brilliant mix of competition, surprises, and great food 🐣

From egg and spoon races to some seriously competitive egg throwing, plus the all-important “guess the number of jelly beans” challenge, it was a week full of fun across the team.

We even had a surprise visit from some very friendly alpacas 🦙

And to round things off before the long weekend, we enjoyed an incredible Indian buffet together.

A great reminder of how important it is to take a step back, have some fun, and spend time as a team.

We’re excited to welcome Htet to the team! 🎉

Htet joins us as part of the Concept Development team, bringing with him a strong background in robotics and a passion for hands-on problem solving. He graduated last year from the University of York with an MEng in Robotics, where he worked on some incredible projects, including developing a medical cobot to support stroke rehabilitation and creating a machine learning algorithm for classifying cardiovascular disease.

Alongside his studies, Htet gained practical experience as a drone technician, servicing and operating camera drones, and later worked as an R&D Engineer in the animatronics industry.

Outside of work, he enjoys getting hands-on with projects, from repairing broken items for family friends to working on motorcycles with his mates.
