This is what a proper wet room looks like before the tiles go on.
Everyone sees the finished bathroom.
But this is the part that decides whether it actually lasts.
This room has had the full Wedi system installed properly — Wedi boards, mechanical fixings with washers, 610 adhesive between the boards, sealed joints, banding, tanking, and vapour protection through the steam area.
Because this isn’t just a normal shower.
It’s a wet room and steam shower, which means water, heat and vapour are constantly trying to find the weakest point.
A missed joint.
A poor corner detail.
A gap behind a fitting.
The wrong system in the wrong place.
That’s where bathrooms fail.
Before any tiles go on, every detail has to be thought through — wall-mounted taps, lighting positions, LED details, pe*******ons, corners, board joints and the full tanking build-up.
It’s not the glamorous bit.
It’s not the bit most people notice.
But it’s the bit that protects everything behind the finished bathroom.
Tiles make it look finished.
The preparation underneath is what makes it last.
