We are incredibly proud to have worked alongside Sunderland AFC this summer as the club prepares for its return to the Premier League and an exciting European campaign ahead.

We have provided Project Management, engineering works and Architectural services across a range of projects, supporting the club as it continues to enhance facilities throughout the Stadium of Light. This has included improvements to The Players Lounge, the home dressing room and dugouts.

It has been fantastic to see the work come together over such an ambitious summer, made possible through a collaborative effort from everyone involved. We’re looking forward to seeing these spaces brought to life and enjoyed throughout what promises to be an exciting season ahead.

Work is now underway on an important expansion project that will help secure the future of Veterans In Crisis Sunderland and the vital support it provides to the veteran community.

BDN is supporting the transformation of the charity’s Sunderland head office on Roker Avenue, providing architectural, structural, civil engineering and project management expertise as part of our ongoing commitment to delivering social value across the North East.

The new fully accessible extension will create a welcoming space for veterans and their families, improving accessibility while allowing Veterans in Crisis to expand its range of services, including wellbeing activities, community events and practical support.

It’s fantastic to see this project move into the construction phase, and we look forward to watching the new space take shape over the coming months.

We’re proud to be supporting the next chapter of South Shields’ seafront transformation! 🌊

Working together as part of the project team, BDN x Fitz are providing multi-disciplinary design and construction management services alongside Colmans for the new Colmans Coastal Village development on South Promenade.

Building on the success of the award-winning Seafood Temple, the project will deliver 20 beach huts available for daily hire, 13 independent commercial and ancillary units, and high-quality landscaping to create a vibrant, year-round coastal destination.

Designed to support local businesses, start-ups and the wider community, Colmans Coastal Village will offer a welcoming beachfront destination for residents and visitors alike.

Construction is now underway, with completion expected in Spring 2027.

It's fantastic to see the next phase of the North East Autism Society's Growing Futures development taking shape!

With the steel frame now in place, this inspiring project is becoming a reality.

Once complete, the 78-acre site near Burnhope will feature a café, farm shop, cider mill, retail space, specialist play areas, a wildlife setting and petting zoo – creating meaningful employment opportunities for autistic people while providing a welcoming destination for the wider community.

We're proud to be part of the team delivering this transformative £4.9m development, working alongside Mulberry Construction Group and Turner & Townsend.

Seeing projects like this progress from concept to construction is always rewarding, and we look forward to watching Growing Futures continue to develop over the coming months.

BDN X The Body Shop

We're pleased to have supported with a stunning refurbishment project on behalf of The Body Shop at Caledonia Park Designer Outlet in Gretna – the latest transformational designs we have undertaken as part of our longstanding relationship with this iconic high-street brand.

BDN provided Architectural and Project Management services, supporting the successful delivery of a beautifully refreshed retail space.

A special thanks to Dumfries and Galloway Council for the efficient turnaround of the building warrant, allowing us to quickly advance with works alongside contractor Islywn Pugh Construction Ltd.

A great result made possible through collaboration and vision!

We’re on the move…

We're proud to announce that later this year, our headquarters will relocate to Eastgate Point – a development we've designed and delivered in partnership with Hewitson Group.

As our team has doubled in size over the past five years, the move marks an exciting new chapter, providing a purpose-built base to support our continued growth while showcasing the quality and ambition behind one of Sunderland's newest commercial developments.

Our relocation will also pave the way for the next phase of Old Simpson Street School, with plans submitted to transform our current office space into six high-quality apartments, helping to bring another part of this historic building back to life with a new use.

We are really proud to begin work on the transformation of one of Ulverston's most distinctive buildings, which will soon be our North West team's new home 🏫

The former police station, on Neville Street, was built in 1881 and has stood derelict for more than 10 years. It will now be brought back to use with a £3.5m investment to create a stunning new workspace for our team, as well as short-stay accommodation and a food and drink destination.

We work across a range of commercial projects - from offices and retail developments, to industrial and specialist spaces.

We were pleased to be appointed principal designer on this scheme, offering architectural and civil engineering services for a large MOT garage in Alnwick, with construction now well underway. We popped down to site last week to check progress with the Project Manager and Building Control Officer, and we're pleased to see it looking tip top, as the internal fit out works commence.

This domestic project combines piled foundations, ground beams, steel frame and masonry, to deliver a robust structure while maintaining the character and charm of the local architectural style.

A great example of engineering that supports , performance and place in equal measure.

An exciting start for a major student accommodation scheme that we're pleased to be supporting in Liverpool.

We’ve been on-site this month meeting the main contractor Rooms Group Limited as the project begins to take shape.
