Very poor this. Bath not supported. Sealant on with a catapult. Taps loose. Supported the bath , remove the sealant after removing the taps. The gap was too big for sealant alone, so installed quadrant and sealed at the top and bottom.

Elderly couple wanted their bath out, shower tray put in , towel rail installed , flooring put down. Their sink and toilet went back in as they didn't want that changing.
I removed a few tiles to chase the shower popes into the wall. They actually had spare tiles to add where the bath came out.
I tiled the wall , put the floor down , installed everything and they were over the moon bless them 😊.

1400mm x 700mm shower tray. 800mm shower screen with a 300mm flipper panel fitted and thermostatic shower

Second fixed this ensuite after tiler finished. Looks absolutely fab 👌

Redone this one with Quadrant as the gap between the bath and tiles was too much. Supported the bath first, sealed the gap, added the quadrant then a seal on the top and bottom edge of quadrant.

Really gets me when installers put baths in without supporting them. Then seem to put the sealant on with a catapult !!. The tap was close to the tiles , but before it was fitted it should have been sealed first. Not the way it was , puling masses of sealant down the back of it. The last 2 pics are with it supported as best it could be at all four corners. Tap cleaned up, bath sealed and tap refitted. It won't leak !!!

I've done numerous repairs like this over the past few weeks.

Worcester Greenstar 30Si. Had a water leak from the inlet block on the left hand side.
Replaced the faulty part and gave it a fuller service , not just stick analyser in and go. Changed electrodes and new burner seal. Worcester recommend changing these every 5 years as the seals can leak products of combustion around the top so must be checked with an analyser every service.
Nice and clean now and running spot on.

Also contacted Octopus Energy to swap out the meter and regulator due to corrosion. There was no gas leak , but requires changing.

Make sure you have your boiler serviced to keep you safe and the boiler running tip top. 45 minutes to an hour usually to service.

And always have a carbon monoxide alarm fitted for peace of mind. Installers must supply one with every new gas appliance installation now, apart from cookers or hobs.

Stay safe everyone ! 😉

The importance of flushing a system before connecting it to the new boiler. These magnets were cleaned before the flush was started ! Make sure your Engineer flushes properly , or this crap will go through your new boiler and probably invalidate your warranty when a problem occurs due to a dirt system.

Hi everyone 👋

For those who don’t know me, I’m Ian. I’ve been working in domestic heating, plumbing and gas for 21 years, and honestly—it’s still the reason I get out of bed every morning.

I take real pride in helping people feel safe, warm and comfortable in their homes. Whether it’s a boiler that won’t fire up, a leaking pipe, or a full heating upgrade, I treat every job like it’s in my own house.

I don’t believe in rushing jobs, cutting corners or bamboozling people with jargon. Just honest, reliable work, done properly.

If you or someone you know needs:
✔ Boiler repairs & servicing
✔ Gas safety checks
✔ Heating upgrades
✔ General plumbing

Feel free to drop me a message or give me a call. And thank you to everyone who’s trusted me over the years – your support really does mean everything.
