Inmalo were pleased to supply the Mantovanibenne MBI CR26 cracker to Metropolitan Demolition Ltd, where it was first utilised at the demolition of the former PowerGen/GSS sub-station next to Ellesmere Port on the Mersey.
The main power house structure contained reinforced concrete with 50mm rebar, causing an existing attachment to struggle on the Hitachi 1200 High Reach. The concrete portal building design was built to last and was stepped down bay by bay during the demolition process.
High Reach operator, Justin Organ said, “The building being an old sub-station is built using anti vibration concrete and 50mm rebar and was putting up a real fight. Life became much easier with the MBI CR26 Cracker. The attachment has real power and the rebar cutters in the throat help keep the structure tidy as you go”.
The increased power of the CR26 Cracker has ensured the project meets its scheduled completion date.
Also from Inmalo the Motofog MF60D Dust Suppression was on hand to help control dust. With a 55m range and a 3-cylinder diesel engine the unit provides wide area dust control with an option of connection to mains or a water tank.
