13 years of an on and off restoration and I've finally got the old goat running, rolling and nearly registered for the road!
Underneath the original patina almost every part of the bike has had extensive restoration work, most of which were out of sheer necessity and others because I didn't want it looking too terrible.
Every working part of the engine and gearbox needed something. Be it a bearing, a shim, wholesale replacement...The engine has had a new liner made, new piston, I had to make a con rod for it, the crank got rebuilt, crank cases has to be reconditioned to seal up properly, I re-made the output sprocket and nut, new coil and points for the ignition, new ignition lead and plug and the list goes on...the gearbox was a while other story but much the same issue, some very old worn out parts that were probably never assembled properly in the first place!
Hopefully the paperwork will be done soon and I can take her for a spin. ๐โค๏ธ
