Popham Kidney Support is dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by kidney disease. The charity raises awareness, offers practical support, and helps improve quality of life for those impacted.

Paul Popham Running Club actively supports the charity through events, fundraising, and awareness within the running community.

We have been to Penyrheol Comprehensive School meeting construction students discussing apprenticeships, trades available and what working on site is really like.

They got to hear about our work within conservation and heritage as well as how they could progress to site management.

This was all arranged through the Futurescape programme 🤩

We are looking forward to more school visits across Swansea!

✨ Apprentice Award nominees with Swansea Bay Construction Support Group ✨

We have nominated two trade apprentices for the 2026 awards, Nathan Smail our apprentice carpenter who joined us after a successful trial through Cyfle Building Skills, and Nathan Taylor, our apprentice joiner who works in our in-house joinery workshop.

Both apprentices have been nominated due to their excellent work ethic, progression and feedback from their college assessors as well as on site mentors and have been gaining experience on a variety of projects including conservation with Cadw at Castell Coch and local authority schemes including The Lab Building for City & County of Swansea and Cambrian Place for Codi.

We wish them both the best of luck for an award, which we will announce after the ceremony on the 25th June 🏆

Our conservation works at Cyfarthfa Castle for Merthyr Tydfil CBC are progressing well 🎉

We are carrying out emergency repairs and conservation of this magnificent Grade II listed building.

Our community engagement includes working with the 'Friends of Cyfarthfa' for a community tour planned for the summer as well as local school engagement and a CITB college visit and inclusion in the 'See Your Site' campaign.

We will look forward to keeping you up to date as we progress with the project.

We are proud to be recognised as Bronze National Award Winners by the Considerate Constructors Scheme 🏆

Five of our sites have been recognised with awards: The Youth Offenders Refurbishment for NPTCBC, Castell Coch for Cadw, Cambrian Place for Codi Group, Bro Dur Skills Hub for NPTCBC, and St Catherine's Church in Gorseinon. 👏

This is a fantastic achievement and a reflection of the hard work, dedication, and high standards delivered by our teams on every project.

Contract Award 📢

We’re pleased to be working with Swansea University / Prifysgol Abertawe on Phase 1 of the Digarbon Project at the Faraday Building, Singleton Campus.

This phase will involve the replacement of the existing ventilation and heating systems, alongside connection to the district heating network, with associated building works supporting the M&E installation.

Works are due to commence on site in early May, and we look forward to sharing updates as the project progresses.

We’re delighted to share that we’ve achieved another outstanding score of 45/45 on our second visit from Considerate Constructors at Castell Coch, where we are delivering conservation works on behalf of our client, Cadw.

The report highlighted our team’s respect for the local community, our comprehensive community benefit initiatives, consideration for our neighbours, and our commitment to maintaining a safe site with strong environmental practices and valuing our workforce.

A huge thank you to our dedicated site teams for their continued hard work and professionalism.

Today marks Julie, our Accounts Clerk’s last day with us as she retires after 23 years of loyal and dedicated service with John Weaver Contractors.

She has been an asset to the company and, more than that, a valued colleague and friend to many of us. Julie’s commitment, reliability, and warm presence have made a lasting impact on everyone she has worked with over the years.

Her contribution to the business has been truly appreciated, and she will be greatly missed by all. 💐

We wish Julie a long, happy, and well deserved retirement filled with good health, relaxation, and many new adventures.
