Work continues right on our doorstep at Panattoni Park Swindon.

Powering an industrial estate spanning 7 million sq ft and 26,000m of HV cable is a massive undertaking. With phase one complete, our team is now well into phase two of this site build, installing the next round of Ring Main Units (RMUs) to support the park's expansion.

The momentum on-site isn't slowing down. With the Ministry of Defence already letting out one of the major units, the development is already proving its strategic value. Our engineers are managing the complete infrastructure package on the ground: handling physical installation, cable pulling, complex terminations, and final commissioning.

It’s brilliant to see this level of industrial investment happening so close to our Swindon HQ, and we're looking forward to keeping the power moving as new units come online ⚡

Going underground: our next milestone on this ultra-rapid charging hub.

With over 30 EV chargers set to power up on this site, getting the connection right from day one matters for the long haul. We're laying 1.8km of HV cable route through to the point of connection, and the section you can see here is horizontal directional drilling in action.

It's a trenchless method, so instead of cutting straight through the hedgerows, field boundaries and a minor road along the route, we drill beneath them. Why? It reduces disruption to the byway and protects the surrounding landscape compared to an open trench.

Empowered to Stop

We're not shy about safety, in fact, we shout about it.

Sometimes you can find yourself in unexpected situations. The key is to be prepared. And that's exactly why anyone across our team has the authority to halt work should something seem out of place.

On a recent EV charging site project, we did exactly this.

While the team were excavating the top layer of tarmac to the point of connection, there was a sudden smell of gas. Work stopped. No debate. No assumptions made.

Once the relevant authorities arrived, it was clear that the gas pipes buried nearby were severely corroded. The result? You can see the condition in the photo.

Because it was called in early, the site was made safe, and work resumed promptly after the repair. The local authority has since found that this was not an isolated issue and is now taking action at multiple points along this stretch of road.

It's a great reminder for all of us. If something doesn't seem right...stop!

Teams are on site, and the Monet's Garden Battery Energy Storage project is underway.

Sinewave has been appointed by Gresham House, a leading renewable infrastructure investor, to deliver this major BESS project end-to-end.

Sinewave’s scope of work includes:
✅ The appointment as Principal Contractor, overseeing site management, welfare, SHEQ and operational activities
✅ Extensive site civils and enabling works
✅ BOP work for full HV/LV systems
✅ Cable design interface with Sungrow PT3 Battery units
✅ 33kV and SCADA design and installation to the NGET interface
✅ Firewater containment and attenuation pond installation, including a new water
mains connection and drainage system
✅ Commissioning, energisation and handover support

Following an early-stage design phase in 2025, the project is now underway, with operational teams mobilised. Final project completion is on track for 2027.

Three faults. One day. Zero drop in standard.

Faults don't wait for a convenient moment, that's why we're ready to mobilise 24/7/365. Last week, three separate instances were called in on our emergency fault line in the space of a single day. Each one was diagnosed and resolved efficiently without quality and safety being compromised

Because our engineers are spread nationwide and hold the right authorisations for the job, our teams were on site within three hours of the initial reports. All tackled simultaneously.

Our extensive parts and supply chain facilitate a fault becoming a fix rather than a delay. Safety doesn't get diluted just because the clock is against you, every job was carried out to the high standards our customers expect.

It's the reason clients trust us with their assets: whatever happens, we sort it quickly and correctly.

Spades have hit the ground 🪏

Sinewave has been appointed Independent Connection Provider for Conrad Energy's 15MW battery energy storage site near Watchet, Somerset. With construction now underway, the site is due to be energised in 2027.

Our work includes:

✅ Commissioning
✅ Energisation

We're looking forward to bringing more updates as this exciting project progresses.

Another feather in the cap for Source EV 🪶

Source EV are rapidly expanding their EV hub portfolio across the UK. Having completed work for their Caerphilly site in Wales, we're excited to announce that their new site at Milton Gate, Abingdon, is now live. Positioned strategically right where drivers coming off the A34 near Didcot need it, drivers will also find food and coffee nearby.

Sinewave tackled a suite of works including:

🔌 HV and LV cable installation
🚘 Charger landing and commissioning
📸 Street lighting, CCTV and signage
🚧 Civils and site reinstatement
