Some old school broaching, we have the capability to key way large and small parts and it doesn’t have to be keys ways. It can be hexagon or splines, this broaching machine is over 60 years old and still making a living.

Ready for the weekend,

This early defender 110 came to us sounding like someone was swinging a sledgehammer under the bonnet.

Various hands had been at it before and hadn’t managed to cure the problem.

Our guys in the workshop quickly diagnosed the problem with the injection pump, which was removed and rebuilt. We did the injectors at the same time along with a cambelt kit and a full service for good measure and now it purrs along…..as well as a 19j turbo diesel can do!!

While this sort of work is not our usual sort of thing, we are always happy to accommodate classic vehicles in need of some TLC!

Wagons Roll!!

This stunning Showman’s Van has recently come out of a private collection and we are making preparations for it to be sold.

Part of this has been to remove the very badly perished original tyres and replace them with a suitable modern equivalent.

Unfortunately you simply can not buy tyres for the original rims anymore, so we have custom made 4 new rims to suit tyres that are readily available and still look “correct”

Just another example that no 2 jobs are the same here at Statfold

Here’s something a little different….

This gavioli organ came to us not working…more of an elaborate side board than a musical instrument.

We quickly diagnosed the book feed motor was not in the best of health, so we sourced an “original” replacement along with a modified controller to help with even running while using a generator and protecting the circuit from power surges.

Now it’s playing we have repaired some air leaks and kinked hoses and in our opinion for an organ that hasn’t played in many years, it sounds pretty good!

Fresh paint Friday!

This 2.25 petrol out of a series 3 landrover came to us in a very sorry state.

The rebuild has included
Cylinder Bore
New pistons
New cam shaft
New cam followers
Crank grind
All new bearings and seals
Cylinder head overhaul inc hardened valve seats

Then of course a splash of paint for good measure.

And now it’s back off down to Devon to be put back into the landrover.

Any engine or gearbox work undertaken all in house here at Statfold Engineering

Been to hill head quarry Show to drum up so new business, plus here is an update on what’s been going on with in the work shop here at Statfold Engineering.
