I have commented that the introduction of real time rider consent to a maximum swing height would overcome the deterrence to setting foot on pendulum rides.

This would be a teeny fraction of the effort required to make roller coasters similarly compliant with ongoing consent.

These are a principal reason why rider-driven roller coasters are possible and indeed the next major leap forward for amusement rides. They can and have been used in valleys to perform multi pass launches. They would overcome the problem of valleying.

Thrill rides, which cannot be controlled in intensity by the riders themselves, are certainly not suited to everyone. But my visions for riders' real time control of their experience would make thrill rides more compatible with people who would never go on them as they currently are.

The rider on the left was simultaneously not wanting to proceed, yet determined to not back out. However, during the experience, regret overshadowed everything else, and the situation was unbearable.

My vision would enable experiences of no less intensity to be tried out, whilst the people experiencing them are in control of their train.

A two year old cannot articulate what a four year old can. Understanding what riding a roller coaster entails is also surely difficult. The experience could be distressing for some. My visions would enable the adult to slow down or stop the vehicle on behalf of the toddler.

would be such an easy ride to modify so that the riders could collectively control how high it swings, in real time. Leanne would have been able to restrict the swinging to a gentle setting. Riders would need to go in groups based on tolerance to height and sensations.

The same reel as earlier - with a return to the Roundhouse sidings on a real turntable in parallel 😉

A preservation society (which created the reel to the left) in is able to make use of wonderful locomotive sheds with turntables. Roller coasters could make this mode of operation mainstream again, despite having mostly moved to fixed-formation, multiple unit trains.

The only that I have used, is of the images of roller coaster seats with controls on them.
