It's one of those things that's easy to put off. It looks fine on the surface, so it must be fine, right?
Not always. What you can't see underneath is usually the issue. Rotting joists, damp timber, weak fixings. By the time it becomes obvious, you're often looking at a full rebuild rather than a repair.
Down here in Devon, with the amount of rain and salt air we get, decking takes a real battering, especially anything that's been down more than 5–6 years and hasn't had much upkeep.
Worth getting it checked before you're halfway through a BBQ and someone goes through it. 😬
