Using access equipment on festival sites or uneven ground requires a steadier hand.

That means ensuring the equipment is fitted with the right features to get the job done safely.
Get it wrong and you can easily jeopardise your build timeline, adding unnecessary pressure to an already time constrained task.

Features you should ensure your access equipment includes:

✅ Rough terrain tyres to navigate uneven ground without getting stuck
✅ Outriggers to spread the weight of the equipment evenly and provide a level working surface no matter the terrain
✅ 4x4 wheel drive to ensure maximum traction when traversing event sites
✅ Suitable fuel power to suit the application

If you are looking for reliability when working at height on festival sites, make sure the equipment you hire has these features.

Week 36 of 2026 ✅

That's another week done! 📸

Wet weather? No problem, the deliveries kept on moving.

It has been another busy and productive week across WHC, with our machines out and about keeping clients' projects on schedule, even with the change in weather.
Adrian attended another Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce event, this time at the Green Dragon in Hereford. Another great opportunity to meet new businesses and continue growing our network.

We were also pleased to welcome fellow member Matt Freemantle, who came for a behind the scenes look at our operation, seeing the fine detail that goes into delivering such high standards in every machine we supply.

Now we are looking ahead to another busy week!

What has been keeping you busy this week?

5 telehandler operating tips you should NOT skip on event sites

Hiring a telehandler is the easy part.

Making sure your crew uses it safely is a whole different question.

Nothing stops an event build faster than an accident with lifting equipment.

Here is what to pay close attention to:
✅ Get trained before using the equipment
✅ Walk the site before operating the machinery
✅ Know your load capacity and check weights before lifting
✅ Keep your centre of gravity in check — travel with the boom low and chassis level before lifting
✅ Buckle up and stay seated. Machine safety systems are there for a reason, not just a tick box exercise

What is the one safety check you never skip? Comment below 👇

Mobile welfare units are quickly becoming the modern solution to site services, not only on construction sites, but also across major events. 🎉

Why?

Unlike traditional units, these offer a smarter solution for evolving sites.
Here's what you can expect:

🚽 Built-in toilet and sanitation station — no additional hires needed
🍲 A warm canteen and rest area for long build days
⚡ Fast and easy set up — position it and have it running in under 3 minutes
🔋 Optional power sources — choose eco or diesel-powered units to suit your environment

🧽 Weekly in-house servicing — keeping everything clean and comfortable

Another week, another fleet of machines on the move! 🚜
It’s been another busy one at WHC, with plenty of equipment heading out to customers across the region. Rain or shine, we’re keeping the deliveries moving and helping our customers keep their projects on track.

Whether you need a machine for a day, a week, or longer, we’re always working hard to provide reliable equipment, great customer service, and the availability you need, when you need it.

We also had the pleasure of welcoming S & J Building Works Ltd. and Kidderminster College, both members of the & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce, to our Tewkesbury depot this week. It was great to have them visit and show them around WHC! 👋

And then there was a slightly different delivery… 👀🎂
Our MD’s grandson turned 2, and naturally, no birthday party would be complete without an excavator!🎉

We think he might have found his favourite birthday present!
A big week of deliveries, some great visitors, a very special birthday and plenty of machines keeping busy.

If you could have any piece of plant at your birthday party, what would you choose? 👇😂

📢 Bank Holiday Weekend Reminder 📢

What fuel to use in a hired compact tractor on event sites? 🤔

It is simple.

⛽ White diesel only.

Why?

📋 Since April 2022, the use of rebated diesel was restricted for construction and commercial use. For event organisers, this means the use of red diesel is prohibited.

🔧 When you hire a compact tractor, the equipment will come fully ready to use. If you need to replenish the tank before return, make sure you use the correct fuel to avoid unnecessary repair or servicing costs.

Comment “ACCESS” for a checklist 👇

Hiring access equipment for your event or project should be a straightforward process.

But before starting any installation or work at height, it’s important to make sure you’re properly prepared.

Here are a few key checks to complete:
✅ Complete daily equipment checks
📖 Make sure all documentation is up to date
⛰️ Check ground conditions and suitability
🔎 Carry out operational checks, including outriggers
🦺 Wear the appropriate PPE
🚨 Make sure emergency procedures are in place

Taking a few minutes to check everything before work begins can help keep your team, equipment and project safe.

Week 34 of 2026 ✅

Another week of keeping the country moving!

Our teams have been busy delivering equipment from Stoke-on-Trent right down to Newent, and everywhere in between. We have seen huge demand for compaction equipment and large excavators, with the first of our new Thwaites Dumpers 9T ROPS+ dumpers already making their way to sites across the country.

Also this week, Sean attended another Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce meeting in Malvern at Aldwyn's at Ellerslie. Another brilliant event that we were delighted to be a part of, with a huge number of new connections made along the way. There, he also caught up with long-term client Adam from Spring Forward Landscaping with some inspiring conversations around engaging the next generation into our niche industries.

The power of connection and community has always been something we are proud of at WHC. It is not just about delivering equipment. It is about delivering a reliable, trustworthy service that supports client reputation and business growth.

Something we have focused on from day dot.

The equipment you need, when you need it. Ready to work.
