A massive congratulations to Paul Admans & Nicky Brian for successfully completing the Reading Half Marathon and Mini Marathon on Sunday! 🏃‍♂️ 🏃‍♀️ 🏅

After weeks of dedicated training, it certainly paid off for them, with both achieving their target completion times. Well done!

More importantly, they've raised an incredible £860 (and counting) for Cancer Research UK, supporting a cause that means so much to us all. We couldn't be prouder of their efforts and determination for the task at hand, they've even inspired some of their colleagues to take up running.

Now the big question remains.... which half marathon should they take on next? 🤔 Suggestions in the comments.

This weekend our Directors Paul Admans and Nicky Brian will be taking on the Reading Half Marathon and Mini Marathon 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

This year they have chosen to run in support of Cancer Research UK, a cause that is very close to our hearts. Like so many others, we have seen first hand the impact that cancer can have. It affects family members, friends and more recently for the staff at Adbro, colleagues within our team.

Training for Paul & Nicky has been going really well. Those 6am training runs will all be worth it, ensuring they are ready to take on the challenge ahead this weekend. We are all incredibly proud of their commitment, not only to the run, but to raising awareness and supporting such a important cause.

Let's give them all the support and cheer them on this weekend!

That's a wrap from Sparky our elf on the shelf at Adbro Controls for 2025! 🎄

He's brought the smiles, sprinkled some ✨ festive magic ✨ around the workshop and even tried his hand at "helping" us complete our client projects.

It’s Sparky’s penultimate day here at Adbro Controls, so of course he’s squeezing in as much research as he can before he heads back to the North Pole. Keen to be of service on his return to headquarters, he’s been doing a spot of R&D in the machine shop area focusing on our lathe today! ⚙️ 🎄

At least he’s doing something proactive today instead of causing a bit of chaos!

With a just a few days left at Adbro Controls, Sparky decided to look around the workshop to see what he’s not had the pleasure of tampering with yet… Of course he spotted the forklift in the corner.
Apparently, he knows what he’s doing as he gets to ‘drive’ Santas sleigh all the time, but we aren’t so convinced.

We’ve promised him that if he returns next year we’ll train him up properly for a whizz around the yard.. potentially not a wise promise to make but we’ve got a whole year to go before we think about that.

For a moment we thought Sparky had headed back to the North Pole early as he was no where to be seen this morning. Turns out, he'd decided to "be one with the tools" and hide among our spanners in the machine shop area of the workshop. He's clearly got that Friday feeling and just want's to play today.

The question is, where has he put the spanner that he's 'replacing' in the lineup? 🔧

We can tell it’s approaching the end of the week because Sparky is feeling particularly mischievous and clearly losing focus on the job in hand.

We gave him a second chance at completing the consumables stock take this week (after his ferrule angel mishap) but it seems the distractions are too just hard to resist, and he’s decided to conduct his own unofficial test to see how many rolls can be worn simultaneously.

One day we hope he’ll just get it and be a bit helpful…

Following on from Sparky’s little mishap at the start of the month regarding PPE (Or lack thereof) We are pleased to report that he’s been doing some learning.

He’s now fully aware of what should be in each engineers kit; hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, ear defenders, hi vis etc… 🦺 🥽 His only remaining concern is why none of it seems to come in elf size!

Our engineers are working hard to ensure all projects due by the end of 2025 are complete and ready to ship. We asked Sparky to help with the prepping of some of our control panels, so he insisted that we add some ‘festive charm’ to the special deliveries.

“I’m here to spread festive cheer!” he proclaimed when we asked him about his customised labels. They do look good, but are a bit of diversion from the norm! 😂

Sparky spent the weekend researching CAD which explains why he was so insistent that we let him have a play around on Autodesk inventor this morning. 💻

He’s currently deep into explaining the technicalities of his toy car design, asking for our engineers input on how to make it BETTER! We admire his enthusiasm to learn a new skill which he can implement in the design process at Santa’s workshop when he returns to the North Pole ❄️ 🎅

Sparky was taking such long time in stores after we’d requested his help checking tri rated cable stock for an upcoming build, that we sent out search and rescue! To our surprise we discovered him in this rather compromising position!

Now, whether he got himself into this mess or one of our engineers are to blame, we don’t know. Afterall, he has been causing a bit of mischief around the place these last couple of weeks! 🎄

Sparky wanted to give 3D printing a try after seeing some of the engineers using it during the week… Ambition got the better of him and we’re now dealing with what can only be described as a filament based emotional breakdown...

The printer jammed, it didn’t go to plan…is Christmas ruined?

He has asked if it can go under R&D and can he try again.
