🌿 The design of Mike's KOPPI took a custom approach by re-modelling the KOPPI 24. We extended the depth of the room and installed means of office storage. We also installed an additonal square window to take advantage of the vistas and natural light made available in his garden.

1 in 3 Finnish families will own a cabin that provides a certain feeling elsewhere that their home can not. It’s a feeling of spontaneous utopia, the primitive notion of moving between functions with space as its medium. It is an expression of flexible lifestyles through multiple places of comfort and function.

Because of the way things are in the UK regarding the use of land and ownerships etc, we can’t exactly imitate what happens in Finland. But we can take this idea of flexibility and make it work for us.

The idea would, in theory, remain the same when moving between spaces in the house and the KOPPI in the garden - a sense of moving from one space to another with function driving this transition.

It’s the difference between cooking in the kitchen, and working in the office.

Sounds crazy, right?
