Had a little reverse engineering job come in this week. To make 5 off replacements for the customers sample and extend the thread length by 15mm.

316 stainless billets, 192mm dia x 30mm wide. Ordered in error. 12 off with original invoice and material cert from Aalco. If these are of interest to anyone drop me a message or comment. I’d like to get something more than scrap values for them. Shipping can be arranged if needed.

Had a bit of a mishap today, don’t ask. Does anyone have any fanuc spindle drive motor spares, or a good used spares supplier?

A little throwback to about 2009 when I was machining oilfield parts in Houston Texas. The parts on the bench are Monel K500, the snake groove milled in to the O/D before finish turning was a nightmare on your inserts, thin wall too.

The parts on the pallets were called inserts, I think. 718 Inconel.

All run off on an Okuma LB35.

When you’re trying to get a job done on a Saturday morning and realise you didn’t order the 14mm reamer you needed for the job. Offset one jaw in your 3 jaw chuck and drill/bore it in the lathe. Simples 🙂👍🏻
