We've finally had a mezzanine floor installed in the workshop, giving us somewhere to keep all the bits and pieces that were slowly taking over downstairs.

Anyone who runs a workshop knows you can never have too much storage. Materials, tooling, packaging... it all has to live somewhere. Having the extra space will make day-to-day life a lot easier and keep the shop floor clearer for what it's meant for: making precision components.

Casper has already carried out his official inspection. So far he's approved the workmanship, but he's disappointed nobody thought to include a dog lift. He's not convinced the stairs are part of his job description.

We're pleased to welcome our son, Thomas, to the family business. He'll be working with us part time, learning the ropes, while studying for his Engineering NVQ, with the aim of progressing into a full apprenticeship.

It's a great opportunity for him to learn the trade, (and brush up on his coffee making skills!) working alongside his Dad and getting hands-on with precision engineering from day one.

Great to spend time at MACH Show 2026 this week.

It’s always a valuable opportunity to get out of the day-to-day and see the latest advancements in manufacturing technology. As usual, there was plenty to take in and bring back to the business (and a huge shopping list of shiny things that would come in super useful at Bon HQ).

Equally important was the chance to catch up with customers, sharing a few drinks, having proper conversations, and strengthening those relationships that really matter.

We also spent time with some of our key suppliers, including Star Micronics GB CERATIZIT UK & IRELAND, and Sharmic, learning more about their latest innovations and how these can support our business with quality, efficiency, and precision.
