Before offshore wind became the market it is today, Angle Ring was already helping shape its infrastructure.

Back in 2003, we identified wind energy as a growing opportunity for specialist steel bending.

That experience later saw us support a major offshore wind project in the Irish Sea, supplying induction-bent J tubes used as protective sleeves for power cables running from thirty 5MW turbines.

The bends were produced at our Tipton facility using our 24-inch induction bending machine.

A great example of how specialist bending expertise has supported the evolution of the UK renewable energy sector.

It’s always good to see where our steel ends up.

We were proud to support Coughlan Engineering on the Lucan Bandstand project in Dublin, Ireland. The project consisted of cold bending Ø193.7 x 8mm and Ø114.3 x 8mm tubes to radii of approximately 3 metres.

Seeing those individual curved sections transformed into the finished bandstand is exactly why we enjoy doing what we do.

The project has now been shortlisted as a finalist in the Architectural Metalwork – Special Projects category at the 2026 Irish Steel Awards.

A brilliant achievement for everyone involved, and we’d love to help get a few more votes behind it.

Best of luck to the team at Coughlan Engineering!

This is a plate rolling machine.

Plate rolling could come across as a simple-looking process, but one that relies on the right machinery, experience and control to achieve accurate results across a huge range of plate thicknesses and sizes.

At Angle Ring, our plate rolling range can process plate up to 3,100mm wide and 100mm thick, with heavier forming capabilities available up to 200mm.

We asked to see your old Angle Ring memorabilia, and you delivered.

After our post last week sharing an old Angle Ring keyring, Tony Clifford shared this photo of an Angle Ring bottle opener that's been with him since his time at the company.

Tony told us:

“Cal Warmer, (Clagga) gave me this not long after I started work there straight from school, 1987 if I recall. Fantastic bunch of blokes there then.”

Nearly 40 years later, it's still going strong.

We also loved seeing how many of you still have the original Angle Ring keyrings we shared last week. It’s great to see these little pieces of company history still out there.

Got something similar tucked away somewhere? We'd love to see it. Share your photos and memories in the comments or send them to [email protected]

Some things are built to last.

This Angle Ring keyring has been in the pocket of Jon Kay, Director at Ridgeway Structures Ltd, for around 25 years, and it’s still going strong.

As we celebrate 75 years of Angle Ring, if you’ve got an old Angle Ring photo, brochure, keepsake or story, we’d love to see it.

Share it in the comments or get in touch at [email protected]

The bent metal in these projects started in Tipton.

But ended up overseas.

Every export project is different, but they all begin the same way, with a customer's requirement and a steel section that needs specialist expertise.

From bridges and infrastructure projects through to architectural structures and industrial developments, we're proud to support projects around the world from our West Midlands facility.

Wherever the destination, our focus remains the same: quality, accuracy and reliable delivery.
