Could extending asset life safely be simpler than expected?
Following several years of inspection data on a corroded offshore oil export pipeline, Jee carried out a detailed fitness for service and remnant life assessment using API 579 Level 3 finite element analysis.
By combining measured PAUT wall thickness mapping with detailed FEA modelling, our team demonstrated that the most critical topsides spools had remnant lives beyond the planned operating life of the system. This gave the operator confidence to continue safe operation while supporting risk based inspection planning and avoiding an overly conservative outcome.

What does it take to install a subsea pipeline?
More than just laying pipe on the seabed.
From S lay and J lay vessels to reel lay campaigns, landfalls, trenching, ROV operations and pre commissioning, every stage comes with its own engineering challenges, risks and trade offs.
The reality is that the pipeline installation method often shapes the entire project strategy. Water depth, seabed conditions, schedule, cost and long term integrity all play a part in the decision.
One installation technique rarely fits every project. The most successful developments are those where engineering decisions are driven by a clear understanding of both the opportunities and the constraints.
Subsea pipeline construction is where design meets reality and where good planning can save millions offshore.

Could an anchor strike dent really threaten decades of subsea pipeline life? 🤔
When a UKCS operator planned higher pressures and increased throughput through existing gas export trunklines, we assessed fatigue life and the potential impact of historic anchor strike damage. Even under conservative dent assumptions, both pipelines demonstrated acceptable remaining life and exceeded design life expectations.
A good reminder that integrity management is about understanding risk, not guessing it.

What's worse than finding a free span? Spending millions fixing one that doesn't need fixed.
When free spans were identified on a subsea pipe in pipe gas export system the obvious answer was remediation. The engineering answer was to find out if it was actually needed.
Using detailed FEA, VIV assessment and 22 years of operational data, our team demonstrated that the existing spans were predicted to meet the pipeline's end of life requirements. The result?
