MEET THE BLACKSMITH
Emily — artist, maker & blacksmith

Emily is a Cornish artist and blacksmith who works with metal to create sculptures and decorative pieces. Drawing on her background as an artist, she combines traditional blacksmithing techniques with her own creative ideas and love of making.

Her work is rooted in Cornwall — its landscape, history, folklore and traditions of making. She is interested in the connection between people, place and the things we make by hand, creating pieces that carry a sense of Cornwall and its character.

Emily works in an historic blacksmith’s forge built in 1841 on the Mount Edgcumbe Estate, bringing her artistic practice into a place with a long history of traditional metalworking.

The Doors to Ravenness Forge are Opening.

Have you ever wanted to step inside a traditional blacksmith's forge?

Come along to my Open Day to explore the forge, chat with me about blacksmithing, browse my handcrafted work, and soak up the atmosphere.

For those wanting to experience it for themselves, I'll also be offering a limited number of 45 minute taster sessions on the Saturday, where you can heat steel in the forge, learn some basic techniques, and create something to take home.

✨ No experience needed. ✨ Everyone is welcome.

Open day Taster sessions will be £20 per person, which includes your item to take home.
Max 2 people per 45 minute session.

📅 Date: Saturday 15th August
🕒 Time: 9am -4pm
📍 Location: Ravenness Forge, The Barrow Centre, Mount Edgcumbe Country park and house.
