🚧 Another Specialist Build from Staines Trailers! 🚧

We love being part of unique and challenging engineering projects—and this latest design & build is a great example of what our team can deliver.

We’ve recently completed a fully bespoke trailer solution designed for on-site transport of precast concrete tunnel segments, with each stack weighing an impressive 18,000kg.

Working closely with our customer, we engineered a tailored setup with precisely calculated load positioning, ensuring every kilogram is safely supported within the trailer’s rated load-bearing components—crucial for moving these heavy stacks across construction-site haul roads.

🔧 Trailer Specification
• Commercial parabolic monoleaf suspension – 45T
• Commercial 10-stud heavy duty axles rated to 13,400kg per axle (25 km/h)
• 560/45R22.5 BKT RIDEMAX FL693M 160D TL tyres on 16x22.5 (10-stud, +50 offset) – (7,110kg at 25km/h)
• Air-only braking with Spring-Applied Parking Brakes (automatically engages safely when uncoupled)
• 250×150×8mm rectangular hollow-section chassis rails
• 4.5mm checker-plate pressed floor, complete with strapping eyes
• Boxing ring style edge protection & underbody access ladders
• K80 Spoon hitch
• Road-legal lighting
• Under-run bars
• Side rail protection with integrated toolbox, and tray
• Shot-blasted and finished with a two-component, high-solids, high-build aliphatic acrylic polyurethane coating in John Deere green.

Alongside our bespoke trailer, Staines Hire played a vital role in supporting the project. We supplied a John Deere 6215 tractor, fully equipped with wheel weights, front link weight, and essential site safety upgrades such as green seatbelt flashing light and high-visibility decals. This ensured the trailer could be moved safely and efficiently across the site. By offering this flexible hire solution, we helped keep the project on schedule—without the need for the customer to invest in additional machinery.
