The new R3 Series Absolute Rotary Position Sensor from our sister company Phoenix America is built for applications that require reliable, precise angular feedback in tough environments.

As part of National Apprenticeship Week, we’re pleased to welcome Troy Herring to the team as a Junior Project Engineer.

Troy is in the final year of his degree apprenticeship in Product Design and Development Engineering at Coventry University. He’ll be working closely with our engineering team, getting hands‑on with upcoming projects and contributing to our growing technical capability.

Apprenticeships have long been an important part of our business. Our Engineering Manager, Jordan, and our Group Business Development Manager, Jacob, both began their careers as apprentices. More recently, Thomas completed his mechanical engineering apprenticeship and is now a Junior Project Engineer, and in our German office Zoey is progressing through her Office Management apprenticeship.

We’re proud to continue investing in early careers and look forward to seeing the impact our apprentices make across the business.

MXPK rotary sensor chosen for Pfitzner’s Honda B-Series Sequential Gearbox

The new Honda B-Series Sequential Gearbox from Pfitzner Performance Gearbox - PPG was recently unveiled at the Performance Racing Industry show. Engineered for drag racing, circuit, and rally applications, the gearbox is compatible with both FWD and AWD platforms.

One of the components? Our Hall effect MXPK rotary position sensor. With a compact 30 mm diameter and a two-part puck-and-magnet design, the magnet sits inside the gearbox for greater design flexibility.

Factory-programmable angle selection from 30º to 360º ensures precise, reliable feedback in high-performance environments, without compromising size or adaptability.

Well, this was a surprise! A Variohm hot air balloon making an unexpected landing. 🎈 We haven’t been known as Variohm Components since 2002, but it’s great to see it touch down with the same precision our sensors are still known for today… even if it wasn’t exactly where the pilot planned! 😅
