Taking place on International Women’s Day this March at Mount Pleasant Eco Park, the event will explore big ideas around climate, equality, leadership, mental health, creativity and more 🌍🎤

To every woman who applied to speak at TEDxPorthtowan Women – thank you.

We received over 150 applications, and reading and listening to each one was genuinely inspiring. Your stories, your work, your courage to step forward – all of it matters deeply.

Our selection panel of six women, each bringing different experiences and perspectives of womanhood, faced an incredibly difficult decision. We could select only eleven speakers, aiming to represent a broad cross-section of Cornwall, and the final choices were shaped by that diversity of viewpoints.

Please know that not being selected in no way reflects the strength of your story or the importance of your work. Due to the volume of applications, we’re unable to provide individual feedback, but we want you to know: your voice deserves to be heard.

We truly encourage you to keep shining and sharing your gifts with the world.

We are living in times of change where transformational leadership and radical innovation are needed more than ever. We firmly believe everyone can demonstrate these capabilities and contribute to positive change and progressive decision making in all professional roles.

Join us for a fully funded short course, including a residential interactive workshop at Cornwall's Headland Hotel at the end of January.



This course is developed by Planet A and Cultivate Change, delivered by the University of Exeter under The Future is Green project, funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Our team is all about Octopus Energy today! Doctor Dave is in London chatting to Greg Jackson and the Zero Bills team, while back in Truro, an Octopus own brand Cosy heat pump is being installed.
At Planet A we’re big on collaborating, learning and engaging. The journey to net zero is in full swing as we drive forward innovation and new products to reduce emissions in buildings.

Last week was a phenomenal milestone - Planet A is now an approved accreditation partner for the globally recognised Zero Bills Homes standard. In fact, we're one of only 4 accreditation partners in the UK - one of two in England, and certainly the only one in Cornwall!

Innovation is how we will smash UK net zero targets, using heat pumps, solar and smart building design to remove the financial burden of fluctuating energy bills. Hats off to Octopus who have made Zero Bills a reality - the company has grown from a start up to the UKs biggest energy supplier in just 8 years, we're thrilled to be working with them. Our new partners at Verto Homes are the first UK house builder to build out a whole housing development with zero bills guarantee. We're looking forward to what we'll collaboratively bring to the table later this year ;)
