Scotgold are seeking a Graduate Environmental & General Compliance Monitor to be based at the Cononish Gold Mine, Tyndrum. The purpose of the job is to manage the routine environmental activities that ensure compliance with Scotgold’s planning permission for the Cononish Gold Mine site and to assist, when appropriate, with other areas of legislative compliance. Responsibilities include water monitoring, ecology, restoration/rehabilitation and acting as the site contact for the ECoW, Planning Monitor Officers and contractors.
This role requires an ability to work alone, a high level of physical fitness, and a willingness to work outdoors in often difficult weather conditions.
Salary £24,000 per annum for a recent/newly qualified graduate.

GENERAL MINE OPERATIVES – UNDERGROUND GOLD MINE
As Scotgold Resources begins to develop its Cononish Gold Mine, we have some exciting opportunities for General Mine Operatives to work underground. The mine is located in the northernmost part of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, near Tyndrum.
Whilst experience of working in a trackless underground mining environment will be an asset, persons who have a working knowledge, skills and current licences in operating surface heavy mobile plant will also be positively considered.
Successful applicants will join a small, highly-skilled team who promote safety, follow company procedures, and are physically able to work in a demanding environment. As the mine will operate on a 24/7 basis, all positions require shift work.
With a competitive base salary (starting £24,050 p.a.), generous overtime, shift allowance, bonus and a workplace pension plan, these positions will be highly attractive.

As a minimum, applicants must be competent to operate front end loaders or similar equipment and willing to work shifts in an underground environment as part of a small, highly-skilled multi-task team.
Previous underground experience would be an advantage. Scoop tram-specific training will be given.
