Following his appearance on stage at Llandudno two years ago, our Drawing Office Manager Chris has fallen through the looking glass again and come out in Buxton this time, performing for The International Brotherhood of Magicians British Ring at the Opera House. Built in 1903 by Frank Matcham it is one of the most stunning theatres in the country, it makes a quite a change from sitting behind a desk in Slingsby House! โœจ๐Ÿช„

Barrow Raiders Ladies have confirmed the signing of forward Fern Henderson ahead of the 2026 season.

Henderson, 31, was born, brought up and still resides in Barrow, played rugby for Barrow Island Ladies 10 years ago when injury put a halt to her playing career. She also gained experience playing Rugby Union when she was at school where she crossed paths with other current squad members.

Fern who is a Senior Project Engineer and a mother, has previous experience playing as a forward and enjoys playing in the pack.

Fern admits that she likes being part of a team and supporting others and is looking forward to the challenge of playing at elite level.

Head coach Amanda Wilkinson added โ€œitโ€™s great to bring in another local player, Iโ€™m looking forward to see what Fern can bring to the forward pack,โ€
