Last week, Commercial colleagues Lee, Joshua, Chloe, Lucy and Aimee swapped the day job for a volunteering day at Cheltenham Animal Shelter, a local charity that has been rescuing and rehoming cats, dogs and small animals across Gloucestershire for almost 100 years.
The team spent the day tackling a variety of practical tasks, including painting fences and benches, cleaning barbecue equipment and carrying out general maintenance around the site. Their efforts helped ensure the shelter remains a welcoming environment for staff, visitors and – most importantly – the animals in its care.
Lucy said: “It was such a lovely day and so nice to be able to meet people from other teams and work together to support the Animal Shelter in their 100th year.”
Chloe added: “It was a great day and nice to do something different.”
Aimee said: “It was a brilliant experience and nice to be outside for the day for a change.”
And Lee said: “Thanks to everyone at the Animal Shelter for the opportunity, we all had a great time.”
At Commercial, every team member is given one paid volunteering day each year to support a charity or cause close to their heart, creating opportunities to give back and make a positive impact in their local communities.
