: New Restrictions on Canal Transit

The Panama Canal will make new reductions to the daily passage of ships through the waterway due to a lack of rainfall during this El Niño year, the operator announced on Thursday. The changes will begin to take effect on September 3, lowering the number of allowed vessels from 36 to 34, with a further reduction to 32 per day beginning September 15. El Niño is a cyclical global climate phenomenon that causes changes to worldwide weather patterns. While Panama is typically one of the world’s wettest countries, this El Niño, which has been one of the largest ever measured, has caused rainfall to drop about 34% below average. The canal, which sees about 5% of global maritime trade pass through, is vital to both Panama’s and the world’s economies. With international shipping already constrained by the Iran War, the new restrictions may compound the crisis.

We designed & produced 40 vibrant half-strawberry props—complete with stalks & leaves—at our West Yorkshire 3D printing factory.

From CAD design to finishing & paintwork, every detail was crafted for themed shopfronts & displays around Wimbledon this summer.

3D Printed POS Ski Binders – A Precision Challenge! 🎿🚀

This project was trickier than it looked... here’s why 👇

Our client needed 3D Printed ski binders—but not just any design. These had to be:
✅ Visually realistic but not direct copies (to avoid copyright issues)�✅ Clean, crisp white with no visible seams�✅ Lightweight and easy to print with minimal supports�✅ Subtle enough to let the skis (the real stars of the POS display) shine

We partnered closely with their designers to develop a solution that was cost-effective, scalable, and ready for batch production with hundreds of pairs needed in a tight timeframe.

To achieve this, 3D Printing LEEDS:
• Prototyped multiple versions for client approval
• Developed a custom jig for accurate final assembly
• Optimised print settings to reduce visible layer lines

The result? A sleek, realistic prop that looked the part without stealing the spotlight from the skis themselves. 🎯
