There’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes before any Safe Tread system reaches site.

This photo, shared by our Fabrication Supervisor Richard, captures it well. A busy workshop, projects moving through, and still the time taken to clean down tools, organise materials and keep everything running as it should.

Looking after equipment properly, keeping the workspace in order and paying attention to the small details all feed into the bigger picture. It keeps the workshop efficient, reduces delays and helps us get high-quality, consistent anti-slip solutions out the door and onto site without fuss.

It might not be the part clients see, but it’s a big part of why everything performs the way it should once installed.

As we head into spring, slip risk shifts with the conditions.

Our fabrication team have been busy over the past few weeks, with a steady flow of GRP anti-slip access platforms heading out to sites across the UK.

Every system is pre-fabricated at our Essex facility, where the focus is on consistent slip resistance, quality and getting everything ready for a smooth install. By managing the process from design through to installation, we help keep programmes on track and reduce disruption on site.

It’s the work behind the scenes that makes sure every step performs as it should.

Slip risk sits firmly within asset management.
For infrastructure operators, it links directly to inspection regimes, maintenance planning, cost control and risk exposure.

Regular inspections will identify wear and deterioration, but if the underlying solution isn’t durable, the same issues continue to surface. This drives ongoing maintenance activity, increases whole-life cost and leaves assets exposed to avoidable risk.

Over time, this also shapes liability. Where slip risks are known and recurring, expectations around how they are managed become higher.
