MG Home & Garden Projects Kitchen & Bathroom installations, Plastering & decorating & Landscape gardening

We are a family business that are here to help with projects to improve your home. We offer services such as kitchen and bathroom installation as well as plastering, decorating and floor laying. One of the other services we provide is bespoke fitted wardrobes and storage solutions to make even the smallest of spaces work. We have been working in the trades for over 20yrs and have helped many over

the years. We always try to go above and beyond to help customers get the finish they want and more. We have recently changed the way we work with the challenges family bring and the changes we have all had to make with the rise of Covid and have scaled down what we do to concentrate on the smaller jobs that may not seem as important to others but make all the difference to how your families use your home.

Another room completely transformed

This space was fully refreshed from top to bottom with careful preparation and attention to detail throughout. All surfaces were properly filled, sanded and prepped to achieve a smooth, flawless finish before painting.

Finished with crisp lines, fresh modern colours and durable coatings to give the room a clean new look that will last.

It’s always satisfying seeing the before and after come together like this.

Another bedroom transformation completed

As part of the work I am doing in this property I was asked to refresh and restore this space, giving it a clean, sharp, and durable new finish.

On prepping the woodwork I discovered it was last decorated with poor prep work and all the surface finish started peeling off so all that paint was rubbed back to a solid surface.

Walls were fully sanded, filled, and prepped for a flawless smooth surface.

Walls finished in a durable matte emulsion.

Woodwork received 2 undercoats plus 1 satinwood topcoat for a crisp, lasting result.

Extra care was taken with the fine cutting-in details to achieve those sharp, professional lines between walls and woodwork

Attention to preparation is what makes the final result stand out — smooth finishes, sharp edges, and a fresh look built to last.

It’s All in the Detail

Watch to see how we turned "Standard" into "Standout" for our latest local client.

This project was about more than just hanging a TV; it was a full ergonomic and aesthetic overhaul. We took a unit originally designed for the floor and re-engineered it to create a stunning, floating focal point.

The Transformation Journey:

Hidden Engineering: We altered the electrics to bring power exactly where it was needed—directly behind the hardware. No visible cables, no clutter.

Structural Prep: After removing the original setup, we made the wall perfectly sound to ensure a flawless finish for the next stage.

Textured Elegance: We applied a high-end feature wallpaper (check out the close-up in the photos!) that adds incredible depth and warmth to the room.

The Finishing Glow: Integrated LED backlighting creates a soft ambient halo, perfect for cozy evening viewing.

The Result: A sophisticated, clean, and modern living space that the customer is absolutely thrilled with.

When a "simple dig" turns into a garden mystery... 🕵️‍♂️

We just finished this transformation in Sandy, and it wasn't without its surprises!

Once we started the excavation, we discovered the garden had layers of history—literally. We found a hidden step 5" down, followed by 6" of mystery sharp sand and a completely buried manhole that had been lost for years.

The Solution: Instead of extra costs bringing the manhole up to level, I sat down with the client to pivot the design. We decided to embrace the levels and create three distinct "living zones" separated by sleek timber sleepers with integrated smart LED lighting.

The Spec:
Lower Zone: Fossil Mint Sandstone slabs finished with permeable pointing for a clean, natural look.

Mid Zone: 40mm luxury pet-friendly artificial grass (engineered for durability) sitting on a rock-solid granite dust and MOT base.

The High Point: Teak-coloured composite decking to enjoy the warm summer evenings

From a hidden mess to a multi-level masterpiece.

Well I wasn't expecting to find that 5" under the existing patio, customer has lived in the house 13yrs and the patio was there already.

Luckily it is roughly the height of the new patio so a new inset cover and all's good, lucky they have never had any problems with the drains.

It appears that between the houses being built and today the garden (and neighbours) have been raised , as well as the manhole we found a solid step topped with council pavers 2 courses below doc where it should be and a rodding point next to the back door all of which had been slabbed over.

Stay tuned to see the final outcome

So thought I'd join the times and get AI to show the customer the plan.

We are taking this garden with a gradual slope and creating 3 levels.

Patio is going to be Fossil Mint Indian sandstone
Middle layer is artificial grass
Top area will be composite decking

Separated by sleepers with LED lighting to gently light the way.

Nice little job for a Friday replaced 6 doors for a customer I was recommended to.

Every door needed 15mm off top and bottom but at angles to match the frames, then the latch sides needed trimming to suit the curve of the frame. Don't you just love old houses 🤦🏻‍♂️

Doors are Dordogne smooth finish from with Newington dual finish rose backed handles.

All six doors fitted today to round off a busy week

All ready for the customer to paint them.

✨ From Blank Wall to Bespoke Masterpiece! ✨

There’s nothing like a "before and after" to show how a space can be completely transformed. We’ve just finished this ultra-modern media wall, and it’s a real showstopper. 🎬

The Setup:

Floating Aesthetic:

We installed three 800mm wide Howdens cabinets finished in Hockley Super Matt Sand Grey

The Feature:

Behind the screen, we’ve used a stunning grey marbled tile with matching trim to add a premium feel.

The "Glow":

Everything is backlit with recessed LEDs, making the entire unit appear to float in the space and creating the perfect ambient light for movie nights.

A blank wall is just an opportunity waiting to happen. If you’re looking to add some "wow" factor to your living room while gaining some clever storage, let’s talk!
