Speed from lead shows the client you are efficient, reliable and responsive.

We also live in a world where everything is fast, like faster than a scaffolder through an off licence door.

Everyone has become accustomed to instant so when a week passes and they don’t hear anything from you, all faith is lost. Someone else is already winning the race to win the work.

Be prompt, show intent and win more work.

Multiple avenues of lead generation for the win!

When I started out you advertised in your local newspaper we then moved onto the yellow pages all the old fellas will remember.

Everyone starting their business name with AAA to be first on the page as it was alphabetical order 😅

Then we moved to websites if you didn’t have a website you weren’t in the race and now it’s the social media era.

If you are 40+ like me a good percentage of your clients are a lot younger than you and they are social media crazy! They look at anyone who’s not on instagram like you’ve kicked a cat down the stairs.

The truth is you need to findable wherever your clients hang out! Don’t be stubborn because if you don’t move with the rapid pace of marketing you will be left scratching around for work.

Times are hard, I’m not denying that. Everyone should be turning a good wage and being rewarded for the graft they put in.

The point I’m making is most of these types of posts are rage bait for tradesmen, they want you in there arguing amongst yourselves about costs and rates and pitch trade v trade. It’s good for their instagram insights.

If that’s where you go to let off steam and get ya kicks then fair play you do you.

But from running my own construction business and being around many successful business owners none of them are wasting a second in the comments section of these rage bate post.

Maybe put that time and energy into growing your own business, just a thought.

Everyone wants more leads and I get it! More work, less problems. Well at least that’s the theory.

However be careful what you wish for, I know guys who chuck money at lead generation only to feel the wheels come off quickly when they can handle them. It adds stress, clients get impatient and ultimately your reputation can suffer. “He’s good at his job but he’s unreliable”
So my advice is this, set up a good CRM to manage the leads and and your full sales process, you must have this in place to keep track, then add in some automation that allows you to speed up the process for the client. Once these processes are in place only then are you in a position to press go on lead generation.

If you need any help with this sort of thing I’m only a DM away.

Most people hit Monday morning already on the back foot.

No plan.
No structure.
Just reacting to whatever gets thrown at them first.

I’ve found the quickest way to reduce stress and take back control is a simple Sunday reset.

Get the week out of your head and onto a calendar.
Plan the important stuff first.
Family. Fitness. Work. Life.

Because the most important appointment you’ll have all week is the one you make with yourself before the chaos starts.

Bank holiday done properly.

No thoughts of site.
No must make calls.
No have you got a minute to discuss (insert problem)

Just sea air, sand in absolutely everything! BBQ on the go and time with my people.

Funny how stepping away for a couple of days reminds you what you’re grafting for in the first place.

Well and truly back at it now… but this is the reason for the endless graft.

You don’t just “switch off”…
you have to choose to.

Work will take everything if you let it.
There’s always another job, another message, another problem.

But your family?
That time doesn’t wait.

Days like this don’t just happen you’ve got to put them in the diary and make them a priority.

Because when you actually slow down…
be present… do something you love.

That’s when your head clears properly.

Find what lets you switch off for real.
Then make it a non-negotiable.
