E-Coating, also known as Electrophoretic Deposition (EPD), is a metal finishing technique that provides an even, corrosion-resistant coating to parts, including those with complex shapes and hard-to-reach areas. The process involves submerging the product in a tank where an electrical current attracts paint particles to the metal surface, ensuring complete coverage. After application, the coating is cured in an oven to solidify it.
This method is particularly popular in the automotive industry, as it provides excellent protection against corrosion, with over 1,000 hours of salt spray resistance, making it ideal for internal components. The uniformity of the coating and its ability to reach tight spots and edges make it highly effective for parts where both function and durability are critical.
