🏠 DAMP & MOULD — IT’S MORE THAN JUST AN EYESORE

Awaab’s Law was introduced following the tragic death of two-year-old Awaab Ishak after prolonged exposure to mould in his home.

Since 27 October 2025, social landlords in England have had legal duties to act within set timeframes when significant damp and mould hazards are reported. Significant damp and mould hazards must be investigated within 10 working days, with urgent safety work required within 5 working days following the investigation. Emergency hazards must be investigated and made safe within 24 hours.
