Before and after of a replacement fence job completed this week. We removed this existing wooden fence and replaced with a much more modern, composite post and panelling style system. The job was completed quickly and efficiently to minimise disruption to both the customer and their neighbour 👍

A simple yet highly effective transformation to the rear of this lean-to garage. We replaced this old, rotting wooden structure with new brickwork and a solid upvc door and window. This has given the property a more secure feel whilst enhancing the appearance at the same time. No job is too big or small for our team. Feel free to get in touch for a free quotation 🙂

Second floor installation ⬆️
Completed spring 2025 ✅

A 3 month project consisting of;

- Complete removal of existing roof with internal ceilings remaining intact
- New increased pitched roof structure with large rear dormer to accommodate master bedroom, en suite, walk-in wardrobe and large storage area.
- Existing landing layout alterations
- Pro active maintenance; ground out and repointed gable elevations whilst access was present, tying the old to the new perfectly.

All works completed under a temporary roof structure again due to the length of weather exposure. We accessed from on top while the family lived underneath, keeping them undisturbed.

As always, when progress develops, we consult with the customer through regular meetings and take advantage of opportunities to improve the design. This enables us to achieve more practical and/or aesthetically pleasing solutions. Whether it involves a deviation from the original specification or a change in layout, we remain flexible to the customer’s requirements.

Happy new year! For our main project of 2024 we were asked to carry out a large 14m x 3m extension and internal renovation on this beautiful south facing bungalow.

Groundworks and access…An inclining rear garden, meant a large reduction in levels and earth removal to house the extension with large patio area. We facilitated temporary separate access to keep the customer’s driveway clear and clean for the duration of the project. Keeping disruption to a minimal.

Matching details…We decided to use the existing stone from the rear wall of the property and mixed it with separately sourced reclaimed stone to get a perfect match. In addition we mixed 2 separate sands to get the perfect mortar shade.

Frameless sliders… were a first for us and certainly won’t be the last, a key focal point.

Full new heating system… not just a boiler, or radiators but a redesigned pipework infrastructure also for optimum efficiency.

New floors… with the floor up anyway, the existing floor joists were reinforced and the whole house insulated with 90mm PIR below the foot. Full new glued down floorboards. Solid, and warm as toast.

New Interiors… all new bathrooms, Kitchen, utility room and joinery furnishings.

Externals… all new indian stone paving, retaining wall, steps, gate and fencing now complete the project and looks really well, what a transformation.

Recent external maintenance program carried out on this beautiful Victorian house to restore its original features.

Re-Render ✅
Re-pointing ✅
New windows/ cills ✅
New fascias, soffits, gutters ✅

Why? ⬇️

Manifesting from damp problems outlined by surveyors. Recommendations were set out to re-render the upper half. Its aggressive texture housed many un coated areas and voids that allowed damp to strike through, making the render come loose also. The render was tested for asbestos and swiftly removed from site without mess or skips, and replaced with a new resin based system.

Damp was also striking through from both chimneys so they were fully ground out and re pointed, tops re-flaunched and fully coated with storm repellent water seal.

The existing windows were poorly installed allowing capillary action damp to strike through underneath, so these were replaced with triple glazed windows onto new stone cills. No drafts, no damp, better heat retention and soundproofing.

The existing wooden fascias and soffits were rotting in places, so we replaced with new timber which was painted offsite.

All above works carried out and coordinated by R & J Foster Ltd with a swift turnaround and site left tidy and clear daily for minimal disruption for the customer.
