I used some time off recently to finally give my little girl’s room the makeover it deserved. She’s only 2, so she can’t tell me what she wants yet — but as parents, we all end up trying to guess what will make our little ones feel happy, safe and at home.🏠
When she walked in afterwards, she gave me that quiet smile toddlers do… the one where they don’t say much, but you can tell they feel comfortable and content. That moment made every hour of prepping and painting worth it. It’s funny how these small things mean so much when you’re a parent.👨👩👧
Sharing the before and after because it reminded me how fast they grow, and how these little spaces become part of their childhood — even if they immediately try to rearrange everything like a tiny interior designer. 😂
A few parent‑approved highlights:
• The paint went on perfectly… bedtime still didn’t.
• She inspected the room like a toddler building inspector — very strict, zero feedback.
• Payment: one cuddle, one smile, and half a biscuit she found who‑knows‑where.
I’m a local painter and decorator, so if anyone in the community wants help creating a room their little one can grow up in, I’d be more than happy to help. These are the moments that stick with you. ❤️🎨
