I'll again be lowering the tone this weekend coming, so if anyone's about and wants to talk some nonsense, give me a shout

Don't bother messaging me through here, as it's broken again ...... but by all means call/text

Cheers, John

And again .......

"Have another customer looking for an intake manifold, upcoming build, so if someone has one I'll pass the contact details on:

Edelbrock 'Victor Jnr' Pt. No. 2975

It has to be this exact piece ..... not something close ...... and preferably one someone hasn't already got all happy with a grinder on

Maybe something someone may have kicking around after 'upgrading' to a Dart or SV on a bigger capacity SBC ......?
Pic for reference only ...... TIA"

Yeah I know, 'blowing my own trumpet' again ......

Thought I'd put this out there, sent to me by a mate, only data sheet I've seen so far from the weekend ......

Admittedly 'just' a heat, Venray yesterday, but in it were the three 'Rare Developments' powered cars attending the meeting, all out together ......

Heat itself was won by Shaun, other two recorded the first and second fastest laps, Finn & Harry ...... all cars lapping in under 15 seconds

Venray is generally considered a 'horsepower' track, after Hednesford quite possibly the second fastest on the Brisca F1 schedule ...... so I'll leave it at that

Well, with adjustments to the crank journals, and selectively fitting the bearing shells, I have nearly a day in this now ..... yeah I know, gotta learn to work faster

I'm rarely 'happy' with stuff, but this is ok ...... probably better than it's ever been ...... mains are now what they are

Crank is 10/20 already, so shell choice is limited, and grinding the journals again might introduce more problems than it would solve, judging by recent efforts I've seen

I'll adjust the BE clearance out in the rods, which in all honesty is the really important bit

Vid (bit crappy) shows crank spinning with one pinkie ...... stopping #50 of crank inertia, reversing the direction is harder than it looks, even for a reasonably sized HA bloke ..... most of the almost negligible drag is due to the rear seal already fitted

Clearances are modest, not excessive ....... 'loose' might be 'fast', in the short term, but it beats everything to death further down the line .......

With what I was given, and what I have, I can't do any better than this

Block paint is quite spiffing though ......

I guess back to where it all started, the original 'tarmac' motor I built for Finn three seasons ago now

Has had a minor refresh just over a year ago, so a more major overhaul is due

Should really have had it back in before now, but time has not been on my side, so the lads at , out of frustration, decided to put some diesel through it, thus creating copious quantities of smoke, just to get my attention ...... which it did

Some detail to follow, but apart from some much needed head work, no real nasties as yet

Block and bores are in really good shape, decks too, hopefully testament to all the hard work put in initially

Crank is still hanging in there, but the rod bores have moved around a tad ..... settling as they do ...... so all will be resized

Otherwise I'll move some of the settings around ...... chances are the thing'll may chug around even better than before

Lots of prep already done, bores honed etc, it's even been painted ...... a first ...... and it's on the build stand, all expectant like

Rumour has it this may even go in the shale car for the WF, in the vain hope it's actually finished by then

Toodle pip ......

Another quick one ........

Have a customer looking for an intake manifold, for an upcoming build, so if someone has one I'll pass the contact details on:

It has to be this exact piece ..... not something close ...... and preferably one someone hasn't already got all happy with a grinder on

As with many others, absolutely made up for this young lady yesterday evening on winning her first race

Fantastic drive

It's often a strongly 'British' thing to root for the underdog, and none the worse for it on an occasion like this

I have no formal connection to the team, but it's refreshing to finally see the principal deliver the application required to achieve success (only pulling your chain, Paul ......)

Every chance this is an 'onward & upward' moment, so all the best moving forward, Hannah and family

Lad Finn was showing 'em the way home from a quarter of the race on, until the final few laps ...... carburettor gremlins, stuck float

Still managed a place, so on grid for WF
