For any companies or self employed out there in the world of web that for whatever reason are finding it hard to take time off or justify day courses due to not wanting to take time away from clients, RACHP SCHOOL, The Broxbourne refrigeration school in the Broxbourne Enterprise Centres are now taking booking’s for evening classes.

The Cat 1 course runs from 4pm until 10pm Monday through to Friday.

Classes are a maximum of 4 people with an on-line 80 minute exam on the Friday morning and then practical exams straight after. (The practical exam can take anywhere up to 4 hours to complete but most tend to avarage around 2.5 hours so some sitting around for some cannot be avoided I’m afraid)

This is quality assurance! The internet allows the client to give totally true appraisals of the services they receive. Hotels never phoned air-conditioning companies until online reviews srarted. It is the most honest, most transparent and most direct form of quality control and quality assurance going. No one, no matter how trained in quality control has a more eagle eye and true stake in the service being delivered than the client paying for a service in the first place.

This highlights exactly why we in the refrigeration industry purge OFN through pipework when brazing. Purging with OFN has always been important BUT with fluorinated refrigerant it is even more vital that we do not “cut cornes”!!

With HFC refrigerants we tend to use POE oil now unlike minerial oils which we used with CFC’s.

We “purge” a very gentle whisper through pipework to force or “bully” the Oxygen molecules out of the pipework (You may of heard the term “bully gas” and this is why) preventing oxidisation on the inside of the pipe.

Trouble is, with POE oil, it really can act like a scrubbing brush as it travels through the pipework. Without purging OFN the POE would quite literally strip the carbon deposits off of the walls of the pipe and carry them onto small filters, capillary lines and a compressor causing damage to the entire system.

If you do the job right once from the start, you will never have to go back on a job where you cannot charge for a re-visit!

***always purge and ignore those that say “don’t bother”!
