As we continue our 103rd year as an exterior lighting specialist, we’re shining a light on our Westgate facility in Cleckheaton, near Bradford, which has been a key part of the CU Phosco manufacturing network for more than four decades.

Established in 1978 and led by Eric Grieve, Westgate serves as a key manufacturing and operational hub for C.U. Phosco. The facility is home to a dedicated team of 25 employees specialising in high masts, in-tension raise and lower mechanisms, and monopole masts.

Producing structures spanning up to 60 metres, the Westgate team collaborates across all areas of the business to support our mission of delivering connected, efficient and well-lit environments across the globe.

☀️ Keep ahead of the darker months with proactive maintenance

While the summer and longer days are here, now is the time to assess whether your lighting and masts will be ready for the winter ahead.

As the nights draw in, lighting will be needed for longer periods with increased usage. Even small drops in performance, dirty build-up, ageing LEDs, or misalignment can significantly impact safety, comfort, and efficiency. The masts structural and mechanical integrity need to be checked in accordance with the ILP PG07 to ensure they meet current standards and to provide peace of mind to all responsible persons during the winter period.

At C.U. Phosco, our Contract Services Team helps lighting professionals plan for the darker months and the possible effects of adverse weather conditions on their high masts, from statutory and suggested maintenance requirements to ways of reducing long-term maintenance costs.
