This week in our Meet the Team series, we’re introducing three members of our engineering team who specialise in Bathrooms.
🔧 Tom Hathaway – Senior Bathroom & Heating Installation Engineer
Tom has been with Gas Mark 1 for 17 years, starting out as an apprentice before progressing to become a senior engineer.
Tom works across all aspects of plumbing and heating, taking on larger projects and playing an important role in leading the team. Tom particularly enjoys is training and supporting our apprentices, helping the next generation develop their skills and work towards their qualifications.
🔧 Gareth Smitten – Senior Bathroom Installation Engineer
Gareth joined Gas Mark 1 in 2002 as an apprentice – starting his first day shovelling sand! Fast forward more than 20 years and Gareth is now a senior engineer, specialising in fitting high-end bathrooms for customers across Hertfordshire and beyond.
🔧 Tom Wheeler – Installation Engineer
Tom has been with Gas Mark 1 for 8 years, Tom works on central heating installations as well as bathroom installations. During his apprenticeship, he worked closely with Jamie and developed the practical skills that he continues to use today.

What makes us particularly proud of these three is that their careers demonstrate exactly why we believe so strongly in investing in apprentices and developing people from within the business.
