Siemens and Invertek Drives are pleased to announce their formal partnership at Chillventa 2026 (Nuremberg, Germany, 13 to 15 October 2026), building on nearly five years of collaboration in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC-R) technologies.

The partnership brings original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) a tried and tested control solution for brushless DC (BLDC) compressors. It combines Siemens’ Climatix application controllers for precise compressor envelope management with Invertek Drives’ Optidrive Coolvert, a high efficiency variable frequency drive.

Back in March, Invertek Drives announced its partnership with environmental agency Field and Feral to transform six acres of clay land in North Yorkshire into a thriving, sustainable ecosystem.

This project delivers ten out of seventeen of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, including food security, climate action, and life on land.

It’s only been a few months, and it's great to see that the permaculture farm is truly thriving. Young apple trees and gooseberries are producing fruit, butterflies and ladybirds are returning to the site, beehives are now on site, and the lake irrigates the farm and helps the entire ecosystem thrive.

Supporting a project like this is a natural extension of those values. Invertek Drives welcomed 14 work experience students last month.

All students had the opportunity to rotate through key areas of the business, gaining an understanding of our departments and operations.

Activities included discussions on health & safety and the student programmes available at Invertek, warehouse and quality control processes, and SMT circuit assembly. In Production, students saw demonstrations of the build process and the transition of parts using automation. They also learned about logistics, processing shipments with the Despatch Manager software, and received an overview of robots and mapping for moving product.

In Product Design, students created their own CAD models with SolidWorks software and printed their 3D designs. They took part in a manufacturing engineering demo on test machines, a vision system, and were shown the use of the Cobalt robots. Received an introduction to Sales, Marketing, Technical and Customer Services, where they learned about processes, product training and application, and presented their product ideas to our Invertek Dragons Den panel. Lastly, students had a go at dismantling and rebuilding drives in our Service department.

Invertek Drives is at Automation Expo India in Mumbai this week.

We are showcasing some of our Optidrive solutions on our stand, including our globally successful general purpose E3 variable frequency drive. Also on show is our Optidrive Eco, dedicated to pumping and building services applications, alongside the Optidrive Elevator Core which offers advanced motor control for elevators.

Additionally, we are introducing the new Optidrive E4 to our regional partners and customers, a general purpose VFD offering increased capability without complexity.

It was an early start on Sunday for our team, supporting Hospice at the Dragon Boat Race in Shrewsbury.

Over 50 teams took part in the event, held on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th of July 2026. Racing in 40ft dragon boats, it was a great team-building day and, most importantly, helped to raise money for a charity that offers vital care to people with life-limiting conditions.

Invertek Drives Purple Minions finished 14th out of 50 teams and brought home the trophy for the best fancy dress on Sunday.

This two-day event has raised over £108,000, and the total is growing!

What a fantastic day, and great effort made by everyone supporting this wonderful event and charity.

We are pleased to announce that planning permission has been granted for the Innovation Centre and Global Headquarters here in Welshpool, Mid Wales.

This flagship building demonstrates our continued focus on innovation, technology, people and sustainability.

The state-of-the-art building will provide modern Research and Development (R&D) space for the design of our next-generation electric motor control drives VFD’s, create an additional 100 skilled jobs in R&D over a 10-year period and provide training and long-term career opportunities for people in Mid Wales.
